Ha aleef! I'm very real. Apparently you've neither read/don't understand or choose to disregard the ToS. Are you real?

I have a MOTU 896HD in very nice shape for sale. I'm asking $325 and buyer pays shipping and insurance. PM me. Pictures upon request. Works well with SONAR.

Damn.
Too bad it's firewire and my PC doesn't have a port or an express card slot or I'd be all over this.

I own (and DIG) SVX but I couldn't help notice that it's listed as a legacy product in AT. Hopefully it's not going anywhere anytime soon, right?

The way I understand it, the Legacy section in the preset menu is just a repository for presets that were created prior to AT 3.0. I have SVX and Fender presets in the Legacy section from the original product installs. When you install AT 3, it looks for existing products and places all your pre-3.0 presets in the Legacy section. 3.0+ presets appear in the Collections section. The AT 3 install includes 3.0 presets for SVX and Fender if you already have those products installed. In other words, you'll see presets for SVX and Fender in both the Legacy and Collections sections. BTW, Legacy presets can't be seen in the AT plugin in Sonar.

It has to do more with the release times. We have since changed a lot and introduced the Custom Shop. Stuff before it are legacy, stuff after it are not. No need to worry about us discontinuing it. I personally LOVE Ampeg SVX. :)

I just picked it up.  It really sounds good.
Thanks! AmpliTube Fender and SVX are the AmpliTube's that made me fall in love with IK's guitar possibilities! I had a Pod, Pod XT, Pod XT Live, DigiTech RP-250 and a small V-Amp. Used them all live, After trying AmpliTube Fender and the StealthPedal I sold all of the modelers and haven't looked back since!

Hi Obi.
Please pay no attention to those tat say you're not welcome here.
The bakers don't seem to have a problem with you here so why should anyone else.
I like that you let us know of specials that save us money AND are also an avid user of these forums that happens to work for IK.
I've seen you post in numerous threads, help other members and never mention any IK products.
So in my opinion, you're no different than Scott Garrigus and his Sonar Power books/website postings.

Mike
Thanks! I do try and I do love these boards. They make me laugh more often than not and I am passionate about IK products. I was BEFORE I worked for IK by writing reviews on my personal blogs for products I liked. IK was one of my first reviews and still make the best stuff out IMO.

Is it weird that I am kinda interested in this even though it was posted as a diss in my direction?

it would be nice if someone cleared this up either way, because realisticaly who has the right to post things for sale in here and who does not?
obi, even if you had some insight on what youve been given rights to do so in the forum would clear up alot of confusion going on.

best to all.

I haven't been banned or been contacted by anyone at Cakewalk for any reason. I'm sure if I was impacting these forums in a negative manner they would have.

When the tension escalated a few months ago, I've asked the moderators if they could do something about it. Either come out and give their blessings or ask Obi to stop posting here (I personally wouldn't want that).

Now, that is assuming that moderators weren't aware of the situation - but they obviously were.

Nothing happened.

Silence implies consent.

Of course, it also implies that they don't mind people telling Obi that he is spamming the forum, I suppose. :s

I think the type of "spamming" that is most offensive is a robotic mass dumping of information.

IMO, Obi is not injecting himself in such a manner, but is instead offering a dialogue that leads to conversation, questions and answers. This is not offensive, but useful conversation resulting in a developing dialogue that many people are genuinely interested in.

It is quite clear that may people are benefiting from these conversations with Obi, and desire to have him respond to their questions.

Those that find this dialogue offensive are in the vast minority, and can easily ignore the conversation by  quite simply  AVOIDING the thread altogether.[Is that easy, or what?]

Perhaps, as on other forums, there could be a dedicated place for such personal discussions as these that allow software companies to more intimately converse with users to answer questions and make simple announcements about products. Instead of guessing about what is happening we might instead know what is happening, and make our decisions based on informed conversation rather than mere speculation.

I agree, it's great when Obi joins in a debate on a product that somebody has brought up in the first place.

However when he spams it is spamming.  He's also been found to be a bit evasive when there is an otherwise valid criticism of a particular item that he may be touting, which adds an element of bias to his input.

I find it better lately to avoid the inevitable nastiness that seems to result of somebody merely pointing out what the TOS says when it is being disregarded and simply report the violation when it happens.

Maybe some clarity ultimately will be achieved that way.

Perhaps think of populating the IK forums with questions about Sonar, maybe Brandon will turn up to answer them for you if visiting the vendors own forum is a difficulty when trying to glean product specific information.
