There are 2 entries regarding "advertising" - one is entitled "SPAM" the other is entitled "ADVERTISING" 

both are against the TOS.

I cannot understand how anyone could interpret the OP of this thread to be anything other than "advertising" which does fall under the TOS as being "not allowed."

Have you ever gone over the speed limit?  It's clearly against the law and yet I'll bet you've done it.  In fact I'll bet you go the speed that the the majority of other drivers are going and that the police ignore even if it is over the limit.  Oh the horror!

Xenos does have products sold by Cakewalk on their site.  In fact, he has several Z3ta 2 banks for sale at the Cake store right now.   He's also done factory presets for Z3ta+ 2.

So, I suspect the moderators are not likely to clamp down on someone who helps generate some revenue for Cakewalk.  I'm not saying that's right or wrong, but I'm just pointing out that he fits a little bit different category.  


If I'm not mistaken, you'll also find Digital Sound Factory advertisements in the Cakewalk Instruments forum.  I suspect DSF is also in the same boat of those who get to advertise b/c they produce content sold by Cakewalk.  This is speculation on my part, but it might very well be true.

 Well I certainly do respect the positions of the folks that have a 0% tolerance for any advertising here as prescribed in the TOS, I've never been a letter of the law kind of guy. As long as the topics aren't filled with hyperbole like the three kings thread 

"Ampeg SVX and AmpliTube Fender up to 60% off!"  is just the facts and in my view relevant to the software forum. There is a bit of hyperbole in the first post, I'm thinking copy and paste?

For all I know that is how CW is keeping the lights on here and if they have resorted to outside advertising, at least its software related to music production and not those blasted video converter spammers.

it wasnt the speeding analogy that upset beagle,it was the  "Oh the horror!"
that in my opinion was a direct jab at beagle posting the TOS link.
which is why im not sure you didnt see it that way either ?
