  • Notion 3 locks up aud.interface (solved - ASIO firewire ok, USB Quad Capture not)

I've got Notion 3 during the previous X1 Expanded offer, but did not really use it until yesterday.

Each time I exit from Notion 3, when I starts X1, it will not be able to find the audio interface, unless I reboot.

I believe I did not encountered this issue previously because I have a few audio interface drivers in my system and the hardware is not turned on, and previously, Notion may have defaulted to one of these none active drivers. The problem starts when I set Notion's Audio Interface to my current Quad Capture / ASIO... Setting it to default (windows sound) don't help either.

Has anyone experienced this ?

I've written to Notion support too, shall keep the group posted.

there is a "shared" option for audio also, is that enabled ? so it's using it outside of the program...

also if the quad capture is set as your default windows card, that might not help (I use the onboard for "normal" windows stuff)

Thanks Fog.

I think the problem is with Notion 3 not working nicely with ASIO. I've tried your suggestion making ASIO as shared mode in X1. No working too.

Got a reply from Notion support, suggesting to use windows default. Run by it again, (previously missed checking an option making Notion 3 to select windows default), once setup, I'm now back to normal, X1 starts no problem.

ASIO works fine with N3 on both my computers.

Thanks! That got me to try out my other interface, Alexis multimix, firewire.

Yes, ASIO does work now. Does it mean I've narrowed down to USB ASIO, or Quad-Capture (perhaps Octa too) in particular ?

Any Quad/Octa user also have Notion ?
