I must say I have been loving this new compressor .. What I like to know is how this compares to the other more expensive 1176 's ..
Getting the demo leaves the attack and release unusable . You must buy the plugin to use the attack and release..   The company also have a few othe plugins worth looking at, and there not going to leave you broke , there more than reasonable on there price.. Once again only 32 bit but works fine .. No issues here..

32 bit pretty much kills it for me.  I've got the 1176 UAD.  It's 32 bit but it came as a freebie with a UA Solo card that was a free rebate with my UA 710 mic pre.  I think I probably have another one as a free VST possibly.  I don't keep track of that sort of thing.

IIRC, I watched a video with Chris Lord Alge where he said that Waves came and copied his favorite 1176 in his collection.  He had several of them (maybe a half dozen) and he had one that was the best of all of them.  The others didn't sound as good as this one.  That tells me that there is a variation from hardware unit to hardware unit.  So if I'm an unlucky schmuck that only owns one 1176 and it's not a good one, I might not even know that.  So if I hear a software emulation of a one, how would I know if it's a good emulation or not?
