Was it good Herb? bow is slow cooking some sweet potatos in the oven today and I am going to grill a pork tenderoin... a few beers but no homebrew (I should try that) I like all kinds of beer and ale but my favorites are regular Budweiser and Sierra Nevada pale ale. I love the after taste of Budweiser. I think I'll get one right about now. Nevermind... I scanned too quickly, I see it was good! Cheers...

I didn't feel like cooking so I just opened up a can of chili. That was fine. Cheap too !!

I keep cans of chili in the pantry along with canned oysters for oyster stew and mini-ravioli in the can. I like to eat it right from the can with LOTS of grated parmesan cheese. I like lunch to be quick and easy if I am home alone.

We ate the whole pork tenderloin last night. Grilled it on a Weber charcoal grill with hickory chips. Garlic salt, seasoned pepper, paprika, and raw sugar rub.

Had a thick chuckeye steak, three eggs "sunny side up" and frying pan toast x 2 for lunch today. Going back for some more soup for supper... not so hot this time!!

I'd never had canned chili before we moved down here in Vegas. I love home made chili so I wasn't expecting much but those ones I got from Trader Joe's aren't bad. W/ some nachos and melted cheese, it's actually quite yummy. I think that those meals actually contributed to me gaining so much weight in early 2013. I ate that stuff 4, sometimes 5 times a week. :s


These days, my favorite supper usually consists of high fiber pastas w/ low fat cottage and diced tomatos. Sometimes w/ light mozzarella toping... A side of green. 

And once a week, junk, fast-food, restaurant or something like chicken saucage. :P

The soup got heated up but wifey made fresh egg salad...ate a good egg salad sandwich instead. I love egg salad!! Rain... the trick to canned chili is plenty of "soup and oyster" crackers and maybe some shredded cheese melted into it. It will never be homemade... but it can be good. It's good all over a baked potato with cheese and sour cream too.
You should be able to find some REALLY good authentic Mexican food where you are. A real taco does not have a crunchy shell, it is like a small burrito but with shredded pork or beef and chilis... they are REAL good.

It was and is good. plenty of left overs. no one else wanted to eat it.   Since it was shot by me on a hunting trip in December, some of the meat may still contain some #7.5 shot.  So I instructed any who would eat it to chew the meat carefully to check for any missed pellets.  No one wanted it.... I have only found one pellet in 3 bowls to this point.   Like spitting out a watermelon seed, just smaller. 


So it will be lunch for the next two days..... today & tomorrow.... it should all be gone at that point. 


Now.....I'm trying to figure out how I will get my wife to use the ground venison which my brother gave to me,  in a recipe. That was shot by my brother and butchered and processed by a professional butcher shop.....
