SO I'm guessing that maybe, they are getting ready to release a new....updated...version and need to dump inventory to make way for the new stuff....

Or.... maybe it's just really slow right now in the January after Christmas sales season and they need to generate some cashflow  with a sale.

Either way...I'm in.

Could be although you could always find it on the internet for around $200.00.
Hope they finally get a 'bypass when bouncing' feature figured out.

I bought it during the group buy last year.  I paid $212.50 and got 2 free same price or lower packages as well.  (I ended up getting CSR and SampleMoog).

ARC has been great.  a few quirks, but I'm learning to use it and work those out.  it's worth $200!

I love me some ARC. Granted, there is no substitute for room treatment, But if you can hang some room treatment and use ARC both well ,nirvana. Herb, the more measurements you make when you set up the better, even try sitting in your control position when making the measurements. Most of the haters are the guys who sell foam panels to hang on your wall.

I'm embarrassed to say what I paid for it, but still it is bar far the single most life changing plug I've purchased to date.

Exactly what I did. For under $800 I have a pretty good monitoring situation.

ARC is the one thing I plan on buying when we settle down. A bit of room treatment, new monitors and ARC.

Funnily, I was discussing my future home studio design w/ my brother-in-law and telling him about ARC when IK announced the sale on Facebook. Hopefully there'll be similar opportunities when we settle down, but even at $300, with all I've read, it's on the top of my list.

Once they drop a price, they often have a hard time going back to where it was..... normally a new version will take that price place.

Yeah, I'm guessing that by the time we get home, there'll be a new version anyway...

I just got ARC last week. Orderd it directly from IK........paid for ground shipping and got it less than two days later....

CON'S
MY ONLY nit was when I opened up my CD it looked like it was a used disk...had a few smudges and a couple of very small nicks.....but I decided to stick it in my Machine and do the install.....

now 64 bit did not work for me so I ended up rolling back to the original version which all is now well in ARC Land.....

PRO's
This past Thanksgiving I rearranged my studio (a spare bedroom which is 10' x 12' with a closet inside the room and a little nook I used for a vocal corner.....ok squaking corner!)
Now that being said I also got an SPL meter for Christmas

so I first balanced all my speakers with this meter. I was very meticules about it.....

.I used my old gigging music stand to set the SPL Meter on and aimed it straight ahead then used a tape measure to rasie the SPL Meter to where my ear level would normaly be while sitting in my chair facing forward ....... (used Pink noise, not white noise for the test)

then I used a mic/boom stand and used the level and tape again to properly level and place the ARC mic diaphram.....(Mic diaphram at ear level not the boom arm)

I then I took my ARC Room measurements for my monitors....(I was able to get 32 readings for my room)

I then inserted ARC on a master track of a project and studied my results.............

I was not happy with my room's bass reflections at all with my Right Hand monitor results....

So after thinking this whole thing thru all day on Sunday and doing a little internet research ... I.......well........I decided to tear the studio apart and start all over again to reconfigure and improve my Results.....which I did. It took me 6 hours to do...........

once done I started with my SPL measurements and balancing all over again

Next came the ARC Measurements again

After viewing the results I improved what I had from the origianl tests and ARC made a much better adjustment but I still knew I could do better..........

So I hung up some blankets, adjusted some switches on the back of my monitors and redid the ARC measurements...........

I did this in total 4 more times....... (approx. 4 more hours of work)

The RESULT
It was worth the work.............It was worth the work.............while my room is not perfectly flat it is however a lot better....I will be investing in some bass traps which I think with improve it some more...

but the correction that ARC has done now is really really good and I feel it was worth the price of admission...the room right now is as good as it's going to get.....

I was listening to some reference material (acoustic and electric) and all I can say is ........WOW.......What an improvement...........did I mention that it was worth all the work?????

Let me know how it turns out for you sir.......
this was just my 2 cents
