Sadly some people just don't get that idea, all they see is 64 is twice as many as 32.  There are certainly applications that benefit from being 64 bit but I swear myself I can't see where being 32 bit is any handicap here.

It certainly looks interesting to me and Sony now publishing it seems to have raised its profile some because I'd never come across it before.

I'm off to investigate further.

...and thanks for the Monday Morning Quarterbacking. If I wouldn't have raised any question, you wouldn't have this info now either. But I appreciate you letting me know what I don't have any idea of. I don't know if you knew, but 64 bit is the new 32 bit!

But for now there's no reason to go 64bit for the Windows version,...
The Mac version is 64bit simply because of the frameworks, but it doesn't use more memory.

I thought I already asked if it was compatible with my 64bit DAW, in Windows. I already know that you can run a 32bit VST in a 64bit operating system. But not in a 64bit DAW. Now you're saying I don't need it.

Which DAW in particular ?  Note that SpectraLayers is a standalone application, not a VST. If the DAW is able to call an external program yes it's compatible, no matter your DAW is 64bit or 32bit.
For instance it can be called from Ableton Live, Cakewalk SONAR, E-MU Emulator X3, Final Cut Pro, FL Studio, KONTAKT, Logic Pro, Avid Media Composer, Pro Tools, REAKTOR, REAPER, Samplitude/Sequoia, Sony ACID Pro, Sony Vegas Pro, Steinberg HALion, Tracktion.
