You've convinced me. I won't fear the GUI, then. I'll just buy it and try it and dive into the big pool, and swim into the open ocean of possibilities that is FABfilter.

Well, I held off on getting some other software deals that looked good, but this Fabfilter FX bundle is great and really adds a shine and sparkling finish to everything. And it maintains a very transparent coloration [if you want it to] that brings out the best in the sound. There's so much here to explore beginning with the presets and going from there! This is amazing!

I downloaded the demo of the limiter, but when I run this file it says "ffprol105x64 not a valid win32 application"
Just in case, did you download the 32bit version?  The download page has separate download links for 32bit and 64bit versions.  If you did get the right one and it still is trouble, I would re-download and reinstall.  It works fine for me.

I downloaded 64 at first.  I re-downloaded the same file and it works the second time - thank you.  However, it can install the VST 2 or VST 3 versions.  Is X1 VST 2 or 3 compatible?

Fabfilter now also offers all plugs in VST 3- for those of us that also have VST 3 capable hosts.

Agree!   Dan Worrall's video tutorials are the best, absolutely great.  Even if you don't buy Fabfilter's plugins, I  highly recommend watching his video tutorials. And if you are new to Fabfilter, his video tutorials will get you started and moving forward quickly.

I have a bunch of their plugs and really like them. I wish I was better at using them. Lots of good videos on youtube about how to use them as well. I highly recommend their products.

I could have chosen to go X1 expanded, but I knew at some point that Fabfilter would have a sale, and I would be better off for it.

You will probably get all the X1 expanded functionality with the next version of Sonar anyway. I think that is why they are practically giving it away at various intervals at the moment- they want as few people as possible to get it for free at the next upgrade so the people who already bought in don't get too upset.

I drunk the Fabfilter KoolAid (got the whole lot)- but only really only use 3 of them on a daily basis- and two of those pro L and Pro Q can be covered by Ozone plugs. They sure do look pretty though.
