I guess it is according to what you are doing. Some people are dead serious about this sort of thing and will ban you from their peosonal space forever for a style error involving this sort of jacket... seriously. I have no idea...

I think the sport part is important.  You'd want a different coat for curling versus beach volleyball for example.
