Because it can be accomplished fairly easily already this may not be a good suggestion. But if someone has a few free coding hours it would be cool. A certain free audio wav editor has tons of cool effects that I can quickly use to add a stutter and a tape effect with time and pitch stretch. Most of these are in Sonar one way or the other (vst effects or right off the audio process menu with normalize and reverse and those others). What I would like is a little "repeat" either on the audio processing menu with those couple others or as an option in one of the other VST. Basically like the 'repeat" in the software below , I highlight a short area and click on repeat, tell it how many times I want to repeat and it inserts it.
Sounds like it is not mainstream enough to add as a request but I might play with it and there is a fair share of producers and djs who use a beat repeat type deal. I would say have two options, and then add timing(quantization) later). just allow us to highlight the section of audio we want to repeat. Let us specify how many times we want to repeat it and then let us say if we want to slide(add) or overwrite the audio after the selection with the repeat.
Yes I can manually do this but it is not fun if I want anything with a small quick high number of repeats.
