Well, turns out the Rock Legend promo was what I needed to jump on the BFD (Eco) wagon.
Unfortunately, the "here's your serial number for Rock Legend" e-mail which I received afterwards did not contain any SN, so I'm waiting for a reply to my e-mail.
Still, I managed to install BFD Eco - after I abandoned the idea of installing it on my external HD, because the installer systematically claimed that there was no space left - despite over 1 TB available. I must say the installer gave me the impression of a Windows application running in a shell on Mac OSX... And in true Windows fashion, it kept on running even after I quit it. Just like the old days...
Anyway, I ended up w/ 2 different FXPansion and BFD folders for whichever reason, one being absolutely empty, just sitting there in my Applications folder. Strangely enough, the BFD root data preference was pointing to the empty one, so I had to select the correct target folder manually.
I've played w/ it in standalone mode for 15 minutes. Then it crashed.
Man, I'm impressed.
Hopefully those Platinum Samples will be as good as I thought they were when I re-listened to the demos.
