Most I'm looking to make a killing on these...

Right now the VTM is being sold at $250 WITH or WITHOUT the Ilok....

you'd be stupid to buy the one without....get the one with and SELL the Ilok if you already have
one and get some money back...(obviously to get the download and get INSTANT grat)

I don't know WHY they would do that....pretty DUMB!  But hey....no one said Corporations
were intelligent...neither are we as they suck our wallets dry for stuff that
we already used to have and got rid of when "digital" became the "in" thing..

We paid to get OUT of analogue,,,now we pay to get BACK IN....go figure..

Wish I had the $250 I would go for it, I just sold a kidney to get a Duende  DSP card for about the same price. Turns out DSP cards are habbit forming for those with nerd tendencies.

You can bet your bippy that it will be on SALE soon!

After all the "gotta havers" have plunked down full price..

there will be a half off sale....always happens...and THAT is when I'll get it...LOL

I've yet to see FG-X or VCC @ half price, IIRC. Maybe 30-40% off, maybe. I cannot imagine VTM going on sale for half price for at least a year or more (if ever). JMO.

That is today's everyday price. I am still a bit miffed at Slate for the way they sucked me in at full boat for the VCC. I was an early adopter of the VCC and purchased it $279 (the sale price in April of 2011). Now I did get a free ilok 2 USB dongle out of the deal, but within months (Summer of 2011) they were selling them for $149! I'd say give it a few months and once Slate has sucked the money dry and sales start to flatline you will see a "deep" discount sale for the VTM, just to keep the cash flow going. As an early adopter (the VCC still had bugs to iron out), I really felt used and left a bad taste in my mouth. Slate goes on their typical 6-12 months promo build up on the forums to get people pumped up to buy at the full (or near full) so-called sale price and "beta" test for them and then put on the true "sale" price for those smart enough to hold off a few months.
