I've ordered the adapter for my new display Thursday night, directly from Apple.

I was surprised to see that it was actually shipping from China when I received my tracking info.

I was even more surprised yesterday when I found out that my package had reached Anchorage, Alaska. Talk about a detour...

This morning, I see that my adapter is in... Good Ole Memphis, TN.

Considering that the expected delivery day is only Thursday, I'm thinking that by tomorrow, it will probably arrive in Halifax, Nova Scotia, from where it will be sent to Bucharest, in Romania, the next day.

By Wednesday it should back in Shenzhen, China, from where it will be sent right across the Pacific, and finally reach its final destination, LV, Nevada on Thursday.


Bapu's new job would be working for FedEX that I wouldn't be surprised. ;)

Out of curiousity, where did you think Apple products are made ?
 
 

I knew they were made in China, I just didn't realize that it'd ship directly from there. I imagined they had, I don't know, warehouses or something, or that it'd ship from an Apple Store somewhere in the US.

If you're given a NASA tracking number, you can expect your package to get some miles on it...

I don't know if they do or they don't, but I would imagine having satellite warehouses would add quite a lot of cost to the supply chain and would negate all the profit they gained by using child labour. ;)
