Should be good,  I use the TLA-100A quite a bit.

"Today we're proud to release two new products: the Summit Audio EQF-100 Full Range Equalizer, and the Summit Audio Grand Channel Bundle for VST/VST3/AU/RTAS/AAX Native and AAX DSP! They're available from the Softube web shop and authorized Softube dealers at an introductory offer of $159 and $269 respectively, excl. VAT. The introductory offer will last until August 4 and thereafter the price will be $219 and $329.

Note that owners of the Summit Audio TLA-100A plugin can upgrade to the Grand Channel bundle for $99 during the intro offer! Thereafter the upgrade price will be $159.

With the Grand Channel bundle you get three plugins; The Summit Audio TLA-100A, the Summit Audio EQF-100 and the Summit Audio Grand Channel. The Grand Channel is the channel strip that always works. Take any track, any bus or any mix - the Summit Audio Grand Channel always sounds right. The Grand Channel combines the warm and smooth tone sculpting EQF-100 passive equalizer with the rich sounding and dead-easy-to-use TLA-100A compressor.

The flexibility and smoothness are the key features of the EQF-100. Four fully parametric bands of equalization and additional three position low and high cut filters make the EQF-100 a go-to equalizer for any sound or instrument in your mix. A mix that no doubt will sound warmer and fatter with the help of the EQF-100 and its unique blend of tube and solid state technology."

I just got the upgrade from audiodeluxe.com for a bit less.

A bit expensive aren't they?

These companies used to be able to say "but look at how much Waves' cost".

But now vendors like Softube and PluginAlliance are the outliers.

I think it depends on the buyer/ user.
Sometimes I'll use my old Waves L1 that bought over 10 years ago even though I have the more expensive &  fashionable limiter flavours of today. It works just fine for the jobs intended & when it's needed.

I also have a bundle of plugins that I got at a great price from joining a group sale a few year ago. Even though people rave about how good & inexpensive they are none of those have yet made it into any of my projects.

I use the TLA-100A all the time, enjoy working with it & got it for a reasonable price when it was released. With this upgrade I'll have less than $200.00 into it.
So for myself it's not as expensive compared to the 'unused' plugins that gather dust in a vst folder.  I will actually get my money's worth out of it from using it.

It's very nice btw, another quality release from Softube.

Good points Carl.

I suppose I'm just a bit jealous not being able to justify purchasing these two plugs right now. I see at AudioDeluxe the bundle can be got on special for $219 which is probably pretty good value.

Al Schmitt has stated he uses a hardware TLA-100A and he is a guy who is notoriously picky about compression.

I understand completely.
For myself it all comes down to budget. When I look on paper & add it up I've pissed away more money on the 'great cheap deal' plugins rather than the 'overpriced / expensive' ones.

Softube plugins are great and they go on just about every project I do. Because they sound great!
Carl, I agree with you on paper they are worth so much more!

Ditto. We all did I guess. Which is why we can't even resell those cheap ones - we all bought them. ;)
