Got a tune that ends on D minor. I want a short transition into the next track which starts with F# maj..any ideas for an elegant chord or two or three which will get me there?

Prog rock?

Bar Dm just below the 12th fret. Slide 5th string up to 12th fret (A) and bar 2,3, and 4th strings into an A on the 12th, do this a couple or few times then slide the G up to an Amaj on 14th fret. Then one chord each... A/E/G/D all maj. Do a couple of times if needed then after the Ddrop down to the 7th fret and hit a  B/E/F# progression and stay on the F#.

Something like that might work.

Thanks Julien, I tried a simplified version with piano;

Dm - G - Am  then  B - E - F#

Sounds nice!

I suspect jbows answer is more the type of answer you're looking for, but for what it's worth Dm - Bb - Ebsus4 - F#   sounds nice / uplifting to me (using synth pads)  Depends on the mood of the relative pieces I guess .

Hmm...yes, I do like the sound of that Ebsus4 into the F#, very moody..thanks Paulo!

It's hard to tell without hearing the context, but would D minor, C# Major, F# Major not get you there quickly?

I would try Dm///|A7(#5)/ Fdim/|F#///

Probably needs an Alembic bazz note, no?
