The new VTM uses more because of what it's processing. VCC doesn't use much at all, FG-X can if you use several instances but's for geared for only 1, mastering.

VTM is working fine on my sytem no probs..

I've got VTM on a Bass Track, Drum Bus, Guitar Bus and Master Bus running 64buffers with about a 20% increase in core #1 cpu (cpu is ~20% without, ~40% with).

Just make sure you have a big enough hawg pen and you're good to go.

That the beauty of UAD tape sims. I can run bunches of instances with no problem at all. However, I run just as many instances of VCC with no probs but never more than one of FG-X.

On edit - I'm running a Quad and a Solo.

pdlstl - I have two quads so Studer is never a prob for me. I prolly did not *need* VTM, but.... can't resist.

How many UAD tape sims can you run on a Solo?

There is a chart on UA's site that should tell you that. If I had to say I'd imagine it's < 10 but I have not looked at the chart in ages.

Chart says 10 mono or 6 stereo (for a solo). Remember that means that is ALL you can run. Nothing else.
