Did you hear anything about the BIG announcement?

I'm wondering if Symphonic Choirs is worth buying and if word builder is truly usable.

I think the big announcement was Hollywood Winds is releasing soon.

Re: Symphonic Choirs, I asked that same question 15 months ago, allowed my hopes to overcome my doubts, and I wish I had listened to my doubts. You need to be able and willing to put in a lot work, and overcome the kludginess of Word Builder. IMO, if you're a genius, you can make it work. Anything else, be forewarned. One man's opinion anyway. It was a bold attempt, but it's been out several years now, and nobody else has attempted to give you the nearly unlimited phonic creativity of Word Builder. My sense of it is that unless you want to limit yourself to stock latin phonemes it's just too hard to do successfully at this point. I could be wrong.

yes, I do not want to be limited to Latin phrases, nor having to spend endless hours fiddling with EWQL WB to fulfill my choral aspirations if it is only to end up as an exercise in futility. I've watched WB tutorials and felt that, maybe, perhaps, I could at least assemble some limited vocal lines of use and make it worth my time and money to do what cannot otherwise be done in other libraries.

I'm simply looking for something that can give me some exceptional vocals, solo or otherwise, in English, or just to provide the basics. I have some very limited options with Omnisphere.

Yes, the big announcement was for HOW (Hollywood Woodwinds) being released at the end of July. As for Symphonic Choirs, it's a library I own (purchased through a CCC special) but haven't really had the chance yet to work it seriously. There is a learning curve and it's not for the faint of heart from what I've seen. Have you had the chance to ask around over at Soundsonline? I'm sure that there are some Choir examples to be found in their music forum if you're willing to search. And I'm also sure that a few composers would be more than happy to help you find the appropriate resources to get you started on the right foot.
