I think it's a matter of ratio, Obi.

If one doesn't use those iStuff - and it doesn't look like many folks on these forums do - it can seem like almost every time we hear about IK, besides those crazy sales, it's about iThis and iThat.

The fact of the matter is that, as a customer, when I log into IK's web site,  it feels challenging to get to the stuff that interests me and to get the omnipresent iStuff out of the way. Just see the Product Spotlight section - almost everything there is iSomething.

And when I finally get to what interest me, what I find is that, no, there isn't a new T-Racks single, no CSR hasn't been ported to 64 bit, no SampleTank 3 still isn't out and no the new version of ARC hasn't been released. That leaves us w/ the Custom Shop. So if someone doesn't use iStuff or Amplitube, there's not much left at IK.

Personally, I own almost all the non iProducts - even books about those products - and I can't wait to see new non-iStuff. But I got so tired of iPromo that I removed IK from my FB newsfeed. So I can understand the folks here...

We have shared out current development on ARC and its something we are still working on with Audyssey on the next version. We are trying to show you that we are indeed working on the things you are asking for. It's a fine line we walk though, you can't really make everybody happy as this thread shows. I'd give you more info on the other products you mentioned, but I don't think I should. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. :/

Well, I wish it would be faster but, I would rather it take longer and be better than go quickly and be buggy.

Trust me, we ALL wish it would go faster, but its the unexpected hiccups that take time.

OTOH, you guys can take your time w/ ARC... It's the product I've yet to buy, but most likely later this year - hopefully I'll be able to grab v1 before v2 comes out and the price goes up again, so I'm in no hurry to see the new version come out... ;)

IK OBi:  Again, I thank you for the many ways you help so many of us, especially recently with ARC.  I sometimes have over-reacted not just on this thread but with others and hit "send" before I realize I should have waited and not said what I have written; I can't beleive sometimes what I have written.  I hope I have not offended you.  For me, I have over the last three years bought the complete line of your studio products and they are good, some are great: the complete Samplexxx line, Amplitube (Fender, Hendrix, Ampeg), the T-Racks Deluxe (with Black and White), CSR , ARC, etc.. You get the picture.   I absolutely love the Fender amps in Amplitube, the T-Racks is great for mastering, and boy does ARC really do the trick for room correction--Wow are they great!!!!  I believe that when you guys do release ST3 and 64bit updates that those products will not just go a long way at calming this recent torrential storm of discontent, but hopefully with make many, many of us project & home studio users happy sailors with IKMultimedia.  Certainly you did prove that you were still in it for us studio users when you brought forth the Black & White (especially with that recent group buy, which btw I did not join as I already had it; I just bought them outright because they were that good).  I look forward to spending some of my money for ST3;  I am excited that it will be bigger, better, newer, greater and still be able to read all the nice ST2 samples and hopefully with have an updated more readable GUI.  I always look carefully at ALL of your posts and hope that it is being announced.   So, please don't disappear or leave.  It must be difficult certainly and you must have  mighty thick skin to enter so many of these forums (I can't believe how bad it is on some of the gearslutz forums--I don't have that thick of skin).  Please continue our journey with us and please keep us up to date on products that are coming or have arrived.  Who knows, some of us might even buy one of those Iapps for the fun of it.

Have no fear Obi will be with us as long as he keeps his current job, or until Cakewalk withdraw his priviledge of advertising here for free and start charging IK for their internet real estate, whether we like it or not.

That's my guess.

Obi's aware that he'll get a hard time from time to time because not everyone is pleased to see a spammer spamming, although of course some don't mind that and he's playing to those percentages as is likely defined in the training guides for his professional role.

Calling him a spammer is ignorant and rude.

You may not like the idea, but it isn't in the realm of rude, nor name calling, it's fact.

Wiki:

Forum spam is the creating of messages that are advertisements, abusive, or otherwise unwanted on Internet forums. It is generally done by automated spambots, or manually with unscrupulous intentions.

Cakewalk Forum TOS:

Cakewalk does not allow any form of advertising, therefore promoting websites or products in the forum is inappropriate.

The branded Obi spams therefore he is a spammer.  Check out his profile if you want to see how many posts he's made from a users perspective.  I don't take it personally any more than I take Xuian Lom pushing cheap fake Rolex's personally, but Xuian and Obi are engaged in the same business.
