If a thread is about a particular software company, and representatives of that company participate in the thread, then it's  more like targeted advertising to me. It can't be customer service if it doesn't happen at their place of business. I'm willing to bet that NI won't show up to talk about Guitar Rig.

What other companies have forum reps on hand? Maybe Cakewalk will let them have their own forum. If you want  to shop between posts it could be perfect.

That would be a good idea.  Seperate the commercial companies that want to Spam then perhaps Cakewalk could recoup some revenue from those that want to be represented there rather than have their goodwill leeched by unscrupulous spammers.

Then we get the unbiased user perspective on products as well as keeping those people happy that want to be marketed to by company reps, and this forum retains it's integrity and usefulness and doesn't descend in a free for all because one unscrupulous company sets a precedent.

Maybe Cakewalk will ban OBbi like they have repeatedly banned you Jonbouy :)

  While I do like having Obi here, I can certainly see Jon's point of view.  We already had this thread about the Slash kit and we get another "Three Kings of tone....."  That tone is not the normal thread title you find here unless it has something to do with video converters.
 It's Cake's forum they can allow what they like but recent events have changed how I value Obi's opinion here because I know that his official opinion here is driven by corporate interests. 
 From Obi's response to the well spoken Mr. Kenn, IK is not a company that allows open talk from employees that don't think optimistically about their new  istrategy.
 I find it hard to believe that that he would be allowed to give anything but glowing praise to any of their products.
 I certainly don't hold anything against him but he's no ordinary user on this user to user forum. He is at least a vendor.
 In any case I do thank you Obi, you bumped that Sonik Synth just in the nick of time.

MI is the standard acronym for the Music Industry.  Perhaps you don't know much about the MI.  All I can say is that if you are this worked up about  IK Obi you really need to take a break.  Go out.  Get some relaxation.  It will be OK. He's not coming to your house.

I don't like Spam that's the point you could have read in a previous post.  How about the Spam has got old and for every Spam post that Obi delivers as a rep I flag it up as Spam?
