Trollololoolololol. When people ask what I do for a living I'm just going to reply deal with Trolls. Not to mention the fact if IK was not present on the boards, we wouldn't have created a way for IK users to request features and updates. (We created the IK forums for that) We wouldn't be able to help users as much as we can where they are. (You know, like here with simple questions and getting them help with support when I can't help them here) However I may appear to whomever I have no control over. I can control the block settings here though and if I really bug anybody that much, feel free to block me. Its really a great feature.

There is a BIG BIG difference between Support and Marketing.
Giving support is a reactive action and marketing an proactive.

I have no problems with you giving support when needed.
I do see the problem with you doing marketing campaigns here.

Imagine how it would be if all companies were doing the same as IK Multimedia is doing?
Just because IK Obi have been here a long time should not justify him and IK Multimedia any special treatments/rules.

Jonbouy is correct...

BTW, you don't even give support because that is NOT your job...
This is what you call support...

Actually now you're getting personal where I didn't.  You got referred to as a Spammer because that is your actual job title, except you prefer to call it Social Media Strategist.  Had you simply shut-up I was quite happy to let this lie as I'd said all I wanted to say on the subject and was prepared to let the good folk of this forum draw their own conclusions.

I'm not a troll, I'm simply a guest here because I am an owner of several Cakewalk products. As such, as Backwoods accurately points out I am bound by the TOS here.  For you to be here in your professional capacity taking liberties of your hosts and now personally insulting their customers is an outrage.

I've never felt a need to get support on any other products I own on this forum each vendor I use has its own support setup.  I don't need any of them to chime in here because it's not like I have to traipse across town to find them I merely have to follow a link to their own page.

Peers on this particular forum advocate the use of certain products they like and work well within the context of a Cakewalk product because that is the purpose of this particular section.  You go way beyond that remit and by your own admission you are PAID to participate here.  We are also able to point out the 'warts' in particular products, like invasive installion procedures, lack of 64 bit support, and excessive resource usage, where you will tend to avoid these things inherent in your own products due to your partisan interests or pay packet if you prefer.  This isn't the place to tout iApps because Cakewalk don't actually produce any.

No other company abuses these forums the way you do period.

You don't deal with trolls in your job you upset genuine customers of the vendors whose forums you leech upon!  Cynically and remorselessly because you are paid to do so.

@smedberg, no it is not my job, but if I know an answer I always try and help. Unfortunately I do not know everything here at IK so we have a full department that is here to help you. We'd have them on the forums, but unfortunately not everyone at IK has thick skin. If you ask around I have helped in countless PMs and helped people along in every way that I can.

I'm with Jonbouy on this one.

I'm bombarded with dozens of e-mail advertisements everyday. I really don't come to the cakewalk forum and need to see anymore.
You, Obi, and the dude that was hawking Kirk Hunter Strings awhile back, are salesmen.

First and foremost, you are here to sell merchandise.
Surely, you can see why some of us are not exactly thrilled with your presence.

The hapless victim and advocate of the forum users card has worn out Mr Professional Spammer.

You just insult everyone here even more, I asked you for support once as a genuine prospective customer WRT to your installation routines, you became obstructive and defensive well before I had the need to point out your behaviour to you.  You didn't know the answer but you could have easily found it out from your own support department because you wanted to take the issue off the forum because it was an embarrasment.

I wanted you to answer it publically, and made that clear at the time, and you refused the opportunity to do so.

Your postings here are often in flagrant violation of the TOS as you are already aware and yet you persist, and now you resort to insults.

Your company is clearly not worried about making a few enemies as long as you get the word out at any cost.  You may as well put Viagra, Tennis Shoes, and iApp format converters on your portfolio because you use exactly the same tactics as these people and you could make far more money if you took on board a few more products to tout.

I would be VERY careful about "leaking" IK employees opinions like that. IK is a VERY small company and even more so when you narrow it down to just the US office, which I assume the employee works from because you write English well. I already have a name in my head I'm VERY certain of, not that I care but if the wrong person sees this at IK that employee will be called out.

And what does this even mean to anyone here?

Is it a threat?

Whatever it is it is completely bizarre in a pretty dark way.
