I hated DOS, still hate it and after creating a few little games and other assorted nothings, it just wasn't fun to me anymore.

Not that I yam in your programmig league (of extraordinary gentlemen) but I found my VIC 20 TAPE recorder/player device in my shed recently.

Brought back memories of countless hours of machine code and basic programming, saving the program to tape, and then, the tape would bugger, or the tape heads would misalign, or the levels were wrong  or something else  and it would refuse to load back the hours of futile programming..

Yes and so is FSF (i.e. Forum Super Fred), which some wanker started and it is now the longest fred in the CH. You'd be advised to not waste your time reading it especially pages 11 and 14 (they are still the worst). Page 49 (or was it 48?) has a brilliant post by my "Forum Monkeys" primate Daryl1968. He says it's at the bottom of the page but it's actually one post shy of the bottom.

One more thing.
