Hello, I just started using Audio Snap because my new guitar player was just a tad early here and there. I can get the notes lined up just fine, but it's muddy as hell. Sounds kind of like it's being played under water. Freezing the track helps, but good enough for me. Any tips? For all I know Audio Snap is just for drums? Thanks!

Well Audio Snap is it's own beast...some have better luck with it than other's....Me.....I've forgone it and just slice and dice and make everything move manually......I can never get the artifacts out of the snapped audio...

Audio Snap in Sonar=Major Suckage.  Slice and dice the old fashioned way as suggested above.

I'd watch the videos on youtube. They did some specialist ones on audiosnap. I think ObediaTutor did some too on youtube. I never got past a load of what looked like furlong markers. It seems to work in the videos though.

Audio snap is a very powerful tool if executed correctly.  It sounds like you are just moving a couple of transients slightly.

It has two mix engines … one for “on line” rendering and one for “off-line” rendering.  The on-line or on the fly rendering is intended to give you an idea of what it will sound like.  There will be hiccups in it.

When you are satisfied with how you have moved the transient either bounce the track or export the track … at that point it will utilize the izotope algorithm.

Unless you have other issues, if you are just nudging things around a little bit it should be seamless.

And no, it is not just for drums.

It is an amazing production tool though ...

Not to carp but I've never had Audio snap do diddly squat for me except to irritate me.  I'm sure that much of that was my inability or unwillingness to jump through the seemingly myriad hoops required to simply quantize a piece of audio.  In Studio One, for instance, you play your part in.  Click Q.  And you are DONE.  It works first time...every time and it sounds good AND correct.  I'm glad that others have the patience, tenacity and willingness to work with it and achieve decent results.  I still stand by my above statement.
