Unfortunately for me ... I have discovered that I need to be able to use it and use it effectively.

I have probably spent more time practicing and recording to a metro-gnome than some people on this forum have been alive.  If I record a drum track to a click and then everybody else plays to the drum track I can guarantee you that the resulting composition will be rock solid ... no A.S. necessary.

BUT, if I am adding tracks to a piece where all of the other musicians have already recorded to a click or midi drums (essentially adding the live drums much further on down in the recording process) the then I become the secondary timekeeper and not the primary and it is perceptible.

Quantizing a drum track is painfully tedious and time consuming, the software is not as rock solid and predictable as I would like and it is essentially a pain in the a$$ … other than that, it is an amazing production tool.

Hey Dave, I did try bouncing, but not exporting. I will give it a shot. Thank you. Nice track by the way.

Also try to disable all the markers that aren't needed. This really helps as well.

Also, just mix down or export ... don't "quantize".  The quantizing thing was just in reference to a drum track that is getting locked to the click.  When you quantize, every enabled marker is affected.

Be aware that if you try 'AS' on a project and then decide not to use it, remnants of it will remain. doing who knows what in the background.

Not to carp but I've never had Audio snap do diddly squat for me except to irritate me.  I'm sure that much of that was my inability or unwillingness to jump through the seemingly myriad hoops required to simply quantize a piece of audio.  In Studio One, for instance, you play your part in.  Click Q.  And you are DONE.  It works first time...every time and it sounds good AND correct.  I'm glad that others have the patience, tenacity and willingness to work with it and achieve decent results.  I still stand by my above statement.

For the record I use it on my bass tracks frequently. Not for whole tracks mind you, to correct a flubbed note or two in an otherwise in time track. Yes, occasionally I slice and slide too. I can't tell you exactly when I choose one over the other but I know it when I chose it.
