Rain, as usual... you make a lot of sense.

Rain: Under heavier load, Logic was still more responsive

I read such an issue on their forums, on large projects the UI and general work gets sluggish - painfully slow. Now I don't know if this is an issue with all users/setups.

And recently read about some 'bugs' in the latest release (update). Also read about a project getting corrupted, so far still not resolved.

Generally S12 is pretty darn good considering... No matter what DAW one uses there will always be some bugs to contend and some workarounds. No DAW is perfect.

The latest revision of Logic also has its issues where, when using multiple plug-ins like Frequency Analyzer set for high resolution and refresh rate, the screen redraw can get painfully slow.

Doesn't affect me as I rarely use analyzers, and then rarely more than one analyzer at once, two exceptionally. The issue also seems not to hit as hard on older versions of the OS, and I'm still running an older OS.

But yes, I've definitely noticed that the exact same project loaded in both S1 and Logic will start to lag first in S1.

Other than the aforementioned issue w/ frequency analyzer, and w/ the exception of a couple of faulty plug-ins, Logic is the single most efficient/stable DAW I've worked w/. By far. I never even imagined I'd be able to run such projects on a MacBook, consistently, day after day, w/ no optimization and stuff running in the background.

That being said, when I worked w/ Sonar, I knew it so well that my workflow adapted to it and I could work very fast too.

I like Logic, I know friends back in Australia who wouldn't use anything else and ya' know, I think it's darn good value compared to for example; Protools. HD (another popular choice Downunder, particularly for commercial studios post audio production work.)  I know that Stavrou in Australia and another friend in Canada uses Nuendo, a very nice workhorse for post production. However, if Logic was still for Windows users it might have been my first choice because I love working with midi and Logic costs way less compared to the others I mentioned but unfortunately it's not available for Windows.

Bub has been running ess juan pro demo through the paces and has only had one crash when he tried to use the CW TH2 plug and Ess Juan Pro told him he could not. He pressed OK and Ess Juan Pro crashed.

Other than that "two solid days" (according to him) and he's luvin' it.
