So does anyone want to sell me their old version of Kontakt? It would be going to a good home :)

Check the NI site for cross grades (mentioned previously). In my own case when i bought Kontakt, Garritan Personal Orchestra got me the cross grade pricing. I recall being (somewhat) surprised how many applications qualified for the cross grade price. I would guess some people paid full price without realizing they could have done it for cross grade pricing.

Thanks Brando - I didn't really want to pay $279 though. Perhaps I'm asking too much :)

I hear you and relate completely. Hopefully your patience is rewarded by either an NI sale or a second hand purchase. Wish you luck.

this is my weekly bump to see if anyone wants to sell me their Kontakt 3 or 4.
I need a boxed version - NI have the facility to transfer the licence over etc and you still have your later version intact. It's like money for old rope really. PM me. Thanks

That doesn't make sense -- I can sell you my old K3 license that I used to upgrade to K4? That's not usually how it works, AFAIK. If not, let me know... cuz I do have a K3 that is not being used (due to having been upgraded to K4 :) ). I just don't think they'd allow such a thing... or if they do, certainly the license being transferred can't be used again to upgrade, right?!

Hey Keith - that's how I am reading it. I will double check and get back to you. Thanks

Actually… I probably won't be able to help you because I just remembered my K3 license is itself an upgrade license… in other words, not a "full retail" license. In fact, the only "full retail" licenses I own would be K1 (crossgraded from original Garritan GPO), which was subsequently upgrade to K2 then to K3 then to K4, and an additional K4 license crossgraded from some other 3rd party lib.

So… the only "full retail" licenses I own are K1, which has already been upgraded through K4, and another K4 crossgrade that I need in addition to the upgrade K4! Sorry the for the confusion…

That being said, if you could verify with them that I can transfer to you an old K3 upgrade license that is no longer used, but has already been upgraded to K4, and in particular you can then take that K3 upgrade license and upgrade to K4 yourself at some later time (phew!) than I'd be happy to help you out there. My guess is, even if I transfer the upgrade license to you, you have nothing to upgrade from… see what I mean?

Keith, yeah - I think it would have to be the original boxed version and I need version 3 or later.
Thanks though - I appreciate the thought.
So, anyone have a boxed version of Kontakt 3 or 4 they would like to sell me?
