So if I hit report abuse I can report myself? That might take care of having to post those pesky apologies!

Bub asked me to post this for him:

Hi everyone,

Do to recent actions by Cakewalk and Roland, I will not be returning to the forum.

I was recently banned. I have no problem with that at all. I completely understand that I violated the TOS and accept the ban and take full responsibility for my actions.

What I have a problem with are two things:

1. I was never notified that I was banned, or why I was banned, or how long the ban was for. When I tried to pull up the forum site, I received a web page error. I didn't even know at that point that I was banned. After a couple of emails to some fellow forum members, I was informed that the site was working and that I had actually been banned.

I had to send 3 emails to Cakewalk to find out why I was banned and for how long, two of which were to the forum webmaster and I still haven't received a response. I was able to get in contact with Ryan and he sent me a very kind email and informed me the ban was for 2 weeks and explained why I was banned.

2. They have completely blocked me from viewing the forum. I can understand Cakewalk doing this to an IP address associated with a banned forum member. I get it, I have no problem with it, and I think it's a good idea to do that to keep someone who may be disgruntled from creating another account and coming back in and causing trouble. I get it.

The problem is, they have gone so far as to block my cell phone on open wireless networks as well. To me this is completely innapropriate and unacceptable.

I never tried to log in to the forum from my cell phone, I never tried to create another user account from my phone, I was just reading the forum. At first I was able to view a few posts, then I was blocked.

I was viewing posts that I was involved in with helping a fellow forum member with some issues he was having with Sonar. I wanted to check on the status of that. Even though I was banned, I still care about helping people out and was genuinely interested in how the member was doing. I saw before they blocked my phone that I solved some of his major problems and I'm happy for him.

I was also reading some threads in the Coffee House and Songs forum. Thanks everyone for your support, and to those who are glad I was banned, I completely understand. I can be abbrasive and I completely get why some people don't like that. Fair enough.

Sorry, but when you start going after people's cell phones on open networks, I have a very major problem with.

I will not be returning to this forum, and I am no longer a Cakewalk or Roland customer.

Thanks everyone, I wish you all well.

My email is bubdotd@hotmail.com if anyone wants to get in touch with me.

I'd actually really like to know what got him banned. I didn't see what went on, but I've seen a lot more go on where people SHOULD have been banned and weren't. I can think of 3 people right now that should have been banned at least 5 times.

As for "report post" I've used it several times and no one I've reported has EVER been banned. So I don't know how credible it is to even use it. I've not actually tried to have a person banned, but I've reported posts, filled out the forms and at least made a mention of why I felt a mod should take a look at the thread and the person causing trouble. You know something to the effect of....

"This is one of the many threads this individual has stirred the pot. If you look at other posts by this individual, you will see that they too show harsh tones as well as remarks that any normal human being would find upsetting. This is the sort of thing that ruins our forums. Please look into it and if there is anything you can do, it would be greatly appreciated."

It's never done a thing though...so I've given up and don't use it any longer. I too am sorry to see this happen to Bub. In spite of our differences in the past, we've been really hitting it off well and have helped each other with Sonar issues a few times as well as shared in some fun stuff. I hope he reconsiders and at least hangs out with us in the forum even if he no longer supports Roland/Cakewalk.

I've found something out during my time here. The more youget involved and attempt to make a difference or share a heart-felt or "from experience" opinion, the more you open yourself up to people wanting to fight with you. It really can make a person not want to get involved as much....and you guys know how much I love being involved here.

But we have to look at the big picture...and this is where it's most difficult. We can get 3 people that hate us and will always disagree...yet, there are hundreds that love what we have to offer that may not say a word....as well as our buds that praise us and chime in. We need to look at the good and try to forget the bad...even though it's hard as heck sometimes.

Sort of like releasing an album, like I've mentioned before. You get 100 great reviews that make you happy you're alive...and 5 dreadful ones that make the 100 great ones seem obsolete. We seem to dwell on the upsetting things instead of embracing the beautiful comments or support we receive.

Proof of this is in a recent video thread I created upstairs. The awesome thing about it is, it brought so many lurkers out to say thanks and literally be a part of the community. So we do have lots of people that may care about us...they just don't always take part. I'm sure Bub has that going for him too. At any rate...think it over Bub...you don't need Sonar or Roland to keep in touch with friends and hang with us. At times...I sincerely feel it's better to stay here in the CH over venturing into the netherworld of upstairs where you can easily get into a confrontation because someone wants to see their name in lights for the sake of disagreement. I don't know what happened...so I'm not taking sides or anything...but I'd be perfectly fine staying right here...which I WILL do if my efforts upstairs or in the techniques forum ever go south. Hurry back Bub...people love you dude...me included. :)

It isn't the limelight they are looking for it's the validation from the Clique of their impatient sycophant's. I don't venture there often unless I feel the need to add to the conversation which in't very much I'm afraid.

It does make interesting reading though because of the predictability of some of those folk's. Shows character when they show up at the Coffee House and realize the character displayed here.

It's the main reason that I +1 this place.
