This is a dare I say a revolutionary new soft synth from iZotope.
This takes things into new territory as it uses the technology behind their advanced Spectragrams that appear in their RX2 and Ozone 5 products and allow you to interact with them in totally new ways.
They also make fantastic use of their Radius time stretching technology as well to create a wildly refreshing approach to sound design.
The price point also seems to be pretty good as well.

Have fun.

Looks cool, although it doesn't (immediately) strike me as being very musical. More like a sound design tool for sound effects. I watched all of the vid clips and they all seem to be - well - sound fx. I guess I'll download the demo and give it a try. The price ($149) seems reasonable.
I would be very interested in hearing any opinions for anyone who tries the demo, or purchases it. Thanks for posting this Simeon.

Wow, cool. I'd do stuff like that non-realtime in Adobe Audition's spectal editor. Audition would also let you export/import the spectral images to/from photoshop and you could get some really interesting sounds from photoshop. I'd love to be able to do it realtime.

For sound designers probably a must have.  For folks just making "music" tracks, not so much.  Very cool tho.

You would be surprised at the number of musicians who would make use of such a synth. i know Cakewalks forums are heavily guitar based musicans, so the crowd here would have little use.  However, in dance music genres where resampling is par for the course, this has potential to be huge.

You're preaching to the choir there ol pal.  I agree 100% as far as I'm concerned.  I love to throw in all sorts of textures into music from almost any genre.  Iris looks very interesting indeed.  But most folks doing, country, rock, some pop and folk/americana stuff are just not going to find a lot of uses for it.  Although they shouldn't be afraid of tryin! :-)

Wow, that looks pretty cool.. nice to see a fresh innovation then more of the same old with a different take on the GUI

i would love to hear some granulated, resampled bass made from power drill textures used in a country song!!
