Thanks Fog and Ghengis for your interesting responses. I just like the concept of it. I have not got it yet and was holding off till next pay but now as 4th May has been identified as the back to normal price date then I might get onto it sooner. For $249 then I am wondering is it good value. I suppose it is but for the $149 intro price I see that as good deal.

From the demos on the website I find Glass to be more interesting than Wood but then I might be wrong. Any ideas about that? I suppose getting the DVD's is just going to make the whole download process a bit easier. I have got a pretty decent connection and 4G is not so much of an issue.

I bought both glass and wood with the intro price, and I so far I agree that Glass is more interesting and probably more useful for musical ideas, whereas what I've heard so far from wood it's cool for special effects and textures.

Haven't really spent as much time going through presets as I have been just tweaking sounds and drawing on the display to see how it affects the sound.  Built 7 or 8 sounds so far... not sure if they'll be useful in the context of a song, but I'm having fun exploring.  I think I need to go through the presets to see what kind of ideas I can borrow though.

I almost passed on it because I have enough synths and didn't want to learn anything new, but it's so simple and unique that I'm glad I grabbed it.

Well I figure I may as well get the bundle because that way you get wood for free!
This is a very unique synth. Completely original approach to making custom sounds.

thats the reason I bought it, simply because I have too many synths based on the same sort of tech and a bit samey sounding.. Additive or subtractive etc. and a lot of the same as everyone else NI stuff etc.

there is 1 negative I've found .. it imports wav.. but doesn't do recycle , not sure about flac and ogg etc.

Not sure what you mean by "recycle".  Could elaborate just a bit?

So far I am loving Iris for the Radius option - this makes it a very basic but powerful sampler even if it eats the CPU like mad.  I could even resample the sound out of it and not worry about the CPU, I think for this use it is excellent!

I do like the spectral editing, but you don't have to do anything with it, just plunk in a sample and set it to Radius and off you go!

For those who don't know, Radius is a very high-quality pitch changing algorithm that time-stretches the sample as well as tunes it, so sounds playback at the same speed up and down the keyboard which I find essential!

It would be nice if you could multi-sample or internally resample, but I bet that could come in an upgrade version.

Now you guys got me trying this thing out ;) I think I'll buy it and use it as my 1st sample player/mangler. It's missing a few features from the hardware samplers, like assigning a midi channel to each sample, but the Radius play option is nice.
