The only bass I have left is a cheap Ibanez that I just happened to get lucky and get a really good one.  My friend liked it so much he bought one but it sucked so he took it back and tried about eight others.  He finally gave up and bought a more expensive bass.

I haven't had a good roast in ages. The meat section at the grocery store here is a complete rip off. A roast that would have cost me about $8 in my old neighborhood would be about $20 here. Total joke.

They do however sell the leftover roast beef ends from the deli counter really cheap occasionally so that's nice but they are wicked salty so it just isn't the same.

Weather... well spring seems to be creeping in here. Is nice. Lots of sun coming into the place which is much better then the dark depressing basement I was stuck in for a couple years before I came here.

I have some kind of a weird hybrid bass.

It's a Squier Precision ... but it's not like any one I've seen before. It has those 2 little pickups, and another one at the bridge. It also has three adjustment knobs.

I love it, it's got a really thin neck at the bottom which I like a lot.

I tried to find a picture of it on the net but couldn't find one ... I got it at a non-box music store in Des Moines a few years ago for $349 iirc. Made in Indonesia. It wasn't set up, but all I had to do was adjust the neck. Very simple.

He had two of them. The other one was a metallic cherry red, but it had a big gouge out of the fretboard from the factory. It was beautiful, but the chunk missing made me leery of it so I passed it by. Kind of regret it now.

Yeah, I am picky when I buy meats. Pork roast is cheaper than beef roast and when you buy steaks look for "chuckeye" steak. It is the last cut when they cut "ribeyes". They are just as good and according to where you get them a LOT cheaper. Our local Publix supermarket cuts their chuckeyes over an inch thick... I buy them every time I see them and throw them in the freezer... I'll go check the price...(goes to freezer).. OK, three packs/three per pound prices... 6.49, 6.99, and 7.49... any of them are a good deal.

Happy eating!

If I had a car I'd go skulking around for some fresh farm meat (surrounded by rural areas) but alas I don't. It'd be nice if this grocery store took advantage of the local farmers but stupid corporate chains will do what stupid corporate chains do... suck and fail.

I really can say much more on budget basses. The Squier P's really are the best bang for the buck IMO. The Jazz basses are pretty slick too. Like I said... it's just the pickups that could be a little better. You can really find anything that compares in that price range. You'd have to start looking at $500 plus to get anything that comes close to the quality. Mind you I haven't been window shopping for basses in quite some time but there's a reason those models have stayed so popular for so long.

I'd love to snag me a real Ricki at some point though but one of those would cost about half as much as every piece of gear I currently own. :-/

Oh I'm up in Canada. The weather network is telling me it's about 25F (-4C) which is downright balmy for this time of year around here.

It's all perspective I guess. Where I grew up we used to deal with -30/40C in the middle of winter so -4c ain't no thang. ;-)

bapuSmall hands? Ibanez for sure then. I find them to small for my hands (from wristline to tip of middle finger is a hair under 8 inches).

Almost exactly the same here ... now you know the main reason why I  miss my old SG Bass with the Pegs sticking the other way!
