Yeah I saw that somewhere. Looks cool. Wonder what it would be like to play it. My piano skills are bad enough as they are.

BTW - I have never liked "reinventing" or "reimagination" of traditional instruments. If they'worked for thousands of years or something - that is definitily a success story. So why mess with something that works? However, if they make something that make my playing sound like Lang Lang, then I'll buy it!

Hi,

Project ... think about what you said ... the piano started out 500 years ago as a harpsichord ... that was a total pain in the wazoo to tune because no house or place that housed it had consistent heat/temperature like most places do 500 years later. The piano has gotten consistent in the past 100 years ... and "useful" (in terms of household) only in the past 50 years!

So seeing this is interesting, but it came out of the synthesizer development ... makes perfect sense!

Those are good points Moshkiae - didn't think of that actually.

But I was referring to the layout of the keys. The keys themselves are working even though the box behind them have been tough to handle. Perhaps not for a thousand years though

But who said that a synthesizer had to be controlled with piano-ish keys? Was it jsut conventient at the time? Maybe this is what it should have looked like in the first place

I would actually have to play the darn thing to get a feel of the keyboard before I can pass judgement. At first glance though I'm not sure about those rubbery looking keys and how nuances relate well to performance.

A little color would make it less intimidating to play.  In fact, you should be able to imbed LEDs on the keys to help you learn how to play (keys, chords, melody lines etc.).  You've got to wonder just how long that surface is going to last too.  It looks like it could be subject to wear and, since it's a synth, you might end up with some keys simply not working after a while.

Ya, righto. Now keyboard players can play out of tune also. Just to weird for me. Another use of keyboards here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GyiKD3YUEDI

Ya, righto. Now keyboard players can play with out of tune guitarists.
