I certainly prefer Jim's help over that other guy.  Jim is down to earth and a very reasonable guy.  The other guy is the opposite, being a bit arrogant, boasting and all.

BTW, mine is now paid for. I guess I can mark it off the list. I got the mid tower PRO DAW. I need to get a Hard Drive dock now for backup drives. I guess next on the list will be a couple of 24" touch screen monitors. Maybe after Christmas there will be a good deal on Planar monitors. I am very excited. I've never had a true dedicated DAW that I didn't have to worry about. Now I will. A few years ago this level of computing power and stability was price prohibitive, at least for me. Thanks Jim!

EDIT> Wow, I just went back and read through this thread. I have to say, I am in favor of capitalism. I'm glad there are pros here and I'm perfectly fine with them making money, in fact the more money they make the better, for them and for us. Good profits equal a better product and a more stable business that will still be there when I need it again. This thread makes me want to burn a tire and cut down a tree, just to aggravate some people I don't even know. Don't worry though, I'm too lazy for all that.
FWIW, thanks to Jim, Scott, and Algeria and any others who make a living making our life easier and better. Sign me up. OH, wait... I already put my money where my mouth is.

You know, Coca~Cola might tell you that putting garlic and onions in your cola formula isn't a good idea but they are not going to tell you what to use in your formula other than the obvious, coca leaves and cola beans. I'm a contented and happy man.

It has been a year since I had Jim Roseberry (studiocat.com) build my DAW.  It performs beautifully and is so quiet I can't hear it running.  This exactly what I asked for and Jim delivered.  I bought my DAW from Jim after reading all the positive feedback from others that posted out here.

In the process of ordering, I found Jim to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable about questions I had on peripherals and other technical questions.  I wouldn't hesitate to pay for his consulting if I needed it.  Great guy.

If I had one regret, it would be not posting my positive feedback on Jim and this DAW sooner.  If you're looking for a kick @ss DAW and don't want to build it yourself, get in touch with Jim.  If your experience is anything like mine, you won't be disappointed.

P.S.  Here's what Jim built for me (VERY happy with it):

Project Studio DAW
  - Case: Silent Mid Tower
  - Power-Supply: 500w quiet
  - Haswell CPU: 4770 @ 3.9GHz (8 threads)
  - RAM: 16GB DDR3/1600
  - OS drive: 250GB SSD
  - Audio drive: 1TB HD
  - Video: HD5450 (1GB)
  - Burner: 24x DVD/RW
  - Operating System: Windows 8 x64

When I first turned mine on, I didn't hear a thing! I was cursing to myself for a second because I thought it didn't turn on. Then I turned and looked at my monitor, saw the windows 8 screen, and couldn't believe it!
