This post may be a waste of time, however, there may developers looking at these forums with the possibility of purchasing Cakewalk (we can hope). Even as a lifetime user myself, I would be quite willing to pay a yearly fee for updates/bug fixes if a new developer was found. Sonar is such an amazing DAW and has a large user base and IMO is worth saving.

How many of you would do the same?

Just as long time users know the landmines in operation to avoid, the developers are similar with the code. Anyone new would spend more time trying to crosswalk all the variables than fix anything, and without knowing the landmines to avoid could easily make things worse.

A few weeks ago, yes.
But the total disconnect from Cakewalk has left a bad taste in my mouth and I don't believe I would invest another penny in Sonar.

All I want is to be able to use the product that I own.
And even that hasn't been solved yet.

I don't need updates. Sonar in a way has way too many features for my needs.
What I would like is if someone took Sonar and obliterated all the bugs. It has so many little bugs, most are not show stoppers, but software should never crash, and Sonar still does. And this is one reason most others might not want to touch it with a 10 GB pole.

Myself I'm really not expecting Sonar to carry on, they just lost half their user base and each day they are probably loosing more. It was loosing money, it's full of bugs because of bad decisions made years ago.
But it's still my first choice as a DAW even with it's little bugs. If those were removed it would be perfect, but there's a 1/1000 chance of that happening.
