Kreative: your timing is perfect - the product is currently discounted to $139 (from $179, and ten bucks less than I paid for it the last time it was on sale) through the month of May.

Here's a demo using the new bundled effects. Sounds pretty good.

Yay! My timing is perfect!!!

And tomorrow is the day! I love to get things on sale!!! It'll be an honor to be a part of the EEG family, I think.
Now, do I go ahead and spring for Mind Control along with it? This is fabulous newz, Bitflipper!!! Thanks for the newsflash!

Looks like a new interface for EEG. And I'm listening to more demos as I write. This is awesome! This will work out beautifully with everything I've got going, software-wise. Its a piece of the musical puzzle I've dreamed of filling for a long time. I'm glad I took Bitflipper's advice to get Kontakt. I can't wait to buy and download it.

Greg has got my $139.00 vote, and my downloads are under way!

Greg's been compiling a list of demo songs here, some by him, some by users.

Here are some videos showing new features for strum and lead modes. I've actually never used the strum features (it's quicker to just use a real guitar for rhythm parts) but the video has inspired me to give them a go. Been watching them while waiting for the downloads to complete (one more to go!).

Well, as usual I'm a dimbulb.  First I went and watched the strum video Bit linked to above and although I (sort of) got it my new EGS GUI doesn't look anything like the "old" one in the video or have as many options.  I actually liked the arppegiator thingy as I understood it easily.  I really can't make heads nor tails of this new thing.  When I open up Kontakts keyboard at the bottom it shows I only have two strum keys at the lower end...C and C#...downstrokes and upstrokes I assume.  So I goofed with the 4 controls showing when I select "strumming" and play some patterns.  So far I haven't found anything near as realistic as the old arppegiator allowed me to do.  Plus the Kontakt keyboard shows some highlighted keys way up the keyboard that...other than playing single notes...I can't figure what in heck they're supposed to do.  I installed the new version in it's own new folder.  Was I supposed to "overwrite" the old EGS folder or something?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

This is where the fun begins. I need to learn everything.

It may actually be easier for you than for those of us who are already familiar with the old product and now have to both un-learn and then re-learn.

I've only had a chance to fiddle with the new version for a few minutes, and frittered most of that time away playing with the new effects. But one thing that made me do a double-take is there appears to only be one nki now, whereas the old version had dozens.
