Visited this amazing place at The Lakes yesterday (that's one heck of a fancy neighborhood).

It isn't as unique as the previous one was we had hoped to get, but, as a matter of fact, it's even nicer. A lot. And much newer too.

High ceilings and the place doesn't feel as dark, even if we aren't that exposed to sunlight.

And no need to worry about the typical neighbor from hell who didn't do the landscaping for 3 generations and has the place infested w/ spiders and scorpions and all...

The room I'll use for my set up isn't much bigger than the one I intended to use in the other house, but this time, I'll be on the second floor, w/ a nice view - and the carpet mens that the room isn't as echo-ey as that other one.

One of the cool things is that we won't need to re-paint the whole thing. Unlike other houses we've considered, this one we feel we just can leave as is - mostly white and very light. Though I'll probably need my traditional deep red wall in the studio...

So we're moving. March 20th.
And I can't wait!!

Ok...great...you've got a gas cooktop...I won't cook on anything else...so I'm figuring shrimp and grits in dark roux for breakfast...catfish and corn fritters for lunch and then pasta aribitta with homemade Italian sausage and a "soaked" salad for dinner with pistachio gelato and canolis for dessert.  Sound goooooood??

See?  This is the house you were meant to get.  Congratulations!

I only see two problems (visible on the far left and far right of the picture below).

Hopefully they don't mind hearing music (or play stupid songs repeatedly - lol!).

I am starting to believe that I work and monitor at exceptionally low levels. Honestly, I doubt that the neighbors could ever hear anything.

I did a quick test the other day and put on some music at approximately the same volume I'm working at, even a bit louder actually. Went out on the balcony - that's not even 20 feet away - and with the door closed I could barely hear anything. You'd pretty much have to place your ear against the door to even guess the song...

And that's louder than the loudest I ever push it when working. Most of the time, I working at even lower levels.

Worth mentioning that my monitors are at arm's length, anyway. I couldn't work at high level if I wanted to.

Sounds better than anything I could ever hope to cook. :)

Seriously, these days, my diet consists of cottage cheese w/ pineapple and all bran buds, almost exclusively. And veggies.

Every once in a while, eggs and toasts or a protein bar.

Left to myself, I could probably eat boiled cardboard chunks 365 days a year if it were nutritious.
