Ya.
I agree with McQ and James here.
That guy was just being a richard cranium.

It's people like him that give gun owners a bad name too.

Mike

Hey Mike, how long do you think that dude would have lasted with one of our NJ State Troopers? About 5 seconds maybe? Hahaha! Right or no rights, they woulda grabbed him and had him in the car in cuffs in seconds. That video would literally be 5 secs long and it would have been filming the concrete and you'd hear a car speed away while the dude was screaming "Jones vs. Smith...you cannot arrest me....." Car door closes. Hahahaha!

I would have just shown (not handed) my ID and CCW Permit to them.  No biggie

But it is frustrating to see people try to instigate situations by carrying on and on like that isnt it?

No other trooper is known 'round the world like the New Jersey State Trooper. No other is as feared, or respected. Fact.

They are the toughest mother ****ers there is. No other way to put.

I have my doubts that video is legit. It could be, but a seasoned officer would have had the guys ID, verified he was a legitimate gun owner, and they both would have been on their merry way in a matter of a few minutes, no harm, no foul.

But ... if a citizen chooses to be like that, I have no problem with it. He's well within his legal rights, and that's why these laws are in place ... to protect citizens, not the people that actually make the laws.

Wow.

I never thought I'd see the day when a law abiding citizen stands up for himself and get ridiculed for it.

What ... the ... ????

That wasn't 'standing up for your rights', that was deliberately setting out to humiliate the police, with the hope of 'going viral', no doubt.

I hope he gets thrown out of law school.

Where are the rights of people who called in, worried about someone flashing a gun, walking down the street?

Bub: I have to agree with you. I see no problem with a law abiding citizen being left alone. The problem with the world now is, the people that are commiting crimes with guns are blending in with the rest of us like the freakin' taliban. I personally feel all weapons (even if you have a license to carry) should never be revealed. It's sort of like some of the things that get revealed on the forum here. If they never were said (like someone leaving etc) it doesn't put the community in a panic while thinking other things, ya know? Like the recent parting of some of the Bakers. Right away the community thought Cake might be in trouble or whatever.

I think the whole visible gun thing in citizens is a bad move. If I saw someone walking down the street with a gun that wasn't a cop, I'd have to make a call. Of course guns aren't legal here...so I'd have a good reason. But with the way this world is now, I personally see no problem with reporting someone with a gun and see no reason for them to be spot checked to see if they are ok to carry with no warrants. The recent attrocities in the country have forced that hand in my opinion. Sort of like the terrorists attempts at making flying such an inconvenience to us all to where *some* people feel like they are a prisoner in their own country, know what I mean? So many variables here...but I got no problems with people packing and don't think guns need to be banned. Stuff is going to happen whether there is a ban or not....most of the crimes committed are with guns that aren't licensed or are stolen...no nothing changes.

LOL Mike! Yeah, forgot about the stun gun!

Bub, yeah they are some bad dudes. Glad I know quite a few. LOL!!

Yeah I also think that vid may have been fake or maybe he knew the cops. Whatever the case, it IS good to know your rights, but I would think that may be going too far. Lp Mike is a cop...hopefully he'll see this and give us his take on what he would do in that situation.

Standing up for your rights is one thing. Being a d*** is another.
Like Digi2ns stated. He could have just shown his papers and been on his way.

Apparently he was doing something screwy because the cops didn't say 'one' person called concerned. He said we got a 'few' calls.

In light of some of the gun incidents all over the news the last few years, even if you're allowed to carry a weapon, how do the cops know you're not just some nut bag off to the Piggly Wiggly to start popping off rounds?

All they did was ask for his papers. They didn't treat him like a criminal or slam him on the ground.
It's called doing their jobs.

Do you remember when Trooper Lamonaco was killed? We drove right through the scene on our way back from Christmas shopping about an hour after it happened. There must have been 100 cruisers there. A couple of wackjob tree huggers did it.

This was a terrible idea for a thread. This Night Fox dude seems to be stirring up trouble all over the place lately.

Let's talk about music stuff instead.

I just finished the Groove3 X2 Explained vid. At first I thought it was gonna be a dud and just repeat a bunch of stuff I already knew but I wanted to trawl it for any little extra tricks I may have missed so far... but as the vids pressed on... holy crap did I ever learn a lot. Highly recommend that one. Still leaves out a lot but the way that guy did certain things was very eye opening.
