Hey guys,

Now that I have downloaded and collected about a zillion Loops/Samples, how do y'all go about filing or cataloging them?  Is there special software?  How do you "tag" them?

Doesn't all this take FOREVER???

I keep reading that many of them are "searchable" by Sonar, but I haven't had much luck in doing so.  Any tips?

Any advice on cataloging the loops would be greatly appreciated!

What I do is create a shortcut in the browser(in Sonar) to specific folders. I suppose you could set up favorites in their own folders but usually the factory folders work for me.

If you want to shortcut files you can collect those shortcut's to labeled folders i.e. "Drums", "Guitars", "Synth's", etc. but your right it will be a major undertaking.

I used to use a program called MIDI Quest.  It's a librarian software package that could also handle SysEx for saving setups and patches from synths as well.  Not sure if it's still around or not...

This was developed by a fellow Sonar user about a year ago. I haven't used it (yet), but it looks very promising (and it's free).

I'm not sure CT....the link above is the direct link to the software and it works fine over here (I'm at work on an older XP machine).
