I can't tell you how many hours I've wasted waiting on the Amiga to run a Mandelbrot Generator.

It wasn't even mine.

In a universe a long time ago, I used to have a company with a couple of friends where I would generate fractals and color-cycle them to video (we were called Liquid Sky Group - yep, LSG for short).  We made posters and VHS videos for clubs to play.  The higher definition fractals took up to a WEEK to generate back then...  Now it would probably be completed before I finish this sentence.

Something changed recently, either with Chrome via an update I'm not aware of that I didn't knowingly install, or the forum server.

I'm using Chrome now with no trouble whatsoever, as if it were Firefox 3.6.28. No formatting problems, the formatting tools don't disappear when I zoom in, auto-spell works.

I don't know what changed, but something definitely did.

Firefox 3.6.28 barely works anymore on web sites, so I switch between it and Chrome. I was switching back and forth one day between browsers and accidentally logged in with Chrome and it was an hour before I realized I was using it ... everything worked normal for the first time.

The only other thing that's different ... I installed a demo of a file conversion program last week, it said it had to connect to Microsoft's web site and update Net 4.0 on my system. Maybe that has something to do with it? I dunno.

Break time over. Back to my drumming. ;)

Gave up on Sonar and bought Pro Tools.............. nope only kidding.

The dark side I'm referring to is the dark side of browsers.

I have finally given up on Firefox/Chrome and moved back to IE. I can't believe I've done it but I'm having too many problems with other browsers and websites/fingerprint logins (which is really important to me) to keep this battle up.

Whether I stay here will depend on how much I miss some of the add-ins but so far it seems okay. Firefox seems to have become what IE was and website incompatibility seems to be getting worse with the alternatives (not just here).

Shocking, I never thought I'd see the day when I voluntarily used IE.

I always wondered why everyone bashed on IE. It's been solid for me since Win XP, but I did have problems with it in Win 98. Another cool alternative Karl, which is like a 700kb download or so, Crazy Browser. www.crazybrowser.com

It's like IE without all the bloated stuff and it works incredibly well. I use it and IE quite a bit. CB also has better download and upload times when I've speed tested them. CB has some cool stuff built into it like language translation etc...and has been doing the tabbed browser thing way before IE implemented it in. It's pop up blocker is fantastic and it's the best IE alternative I've ever used...which literally runs off of IE's engine, it just uses its own stuff along with it. Check it out sometimes, it's so small it's worth it to have it just in case. :)

Dude, why don't you try Opera? It works great on here and it's more secure.

Today saw the funeral of our top local opera singer. As a tribute, the undertakers didn't use the usual hearse. They took him away in a Nissan Dorma.

WAH WAH WHA WHA...

Seriously though, have you heard Jeff Beck's version?
