I wouldn't want to see you, Freddie, John, JB101, or anyone leave this forum.

There's something in the air lately. I think someone mentioned, can't remember who, something about cabin fever because of it being winter. I think it's partly that, and partly the seemingly endless stream of bad news we're bombarded with from day to day with the state of things in the world.

I honestly believe that subconsciously it effects us all in ways we don't even realize some times and it comes out in ways we couldn't imagine.

We all need to chill it seems, myself included.

Take a break, smash a guitar, break a monitor, but nah ... don't leave.

For once we're in agreemnt, bub.

I was just about to post something in the same vein.  Let's all chill, and remember why we're here   -   a love of music.

In the words of a great twentieth century philosopher - "We can work it out" and "All you need is love".
:)

It's true, we're all here because we love music and we choose Sonar to make music with.

I'll do my best to keep it more positive going forward and be less confrontational.

I will do the same..

Well put, Bub!

There's been a few times I've felt the same way, but I've come back. Sometimes a break is good.

All we really need is X2b. We could all stop zinging lightning bolts at each other and start zinging lightning bolts at Cake again.

Alex I for one will miss your contribution. I know sometimes helping someone and debating others can be frustrating. I decided that I won't debate, or get excited, or get into in heated discussions about useless things unless we have a troll.

If it matters at all, I always enjoy reading what you have to say. Your a bright guy and your input has value.

Hey guys !

YES !! There is a weird vibe on this forum lately ...

My opinion on all this .... (and a bit more)

It seems nowadays that DAW and digital audio is everyone ... everyone expect to install this stupid DAW software and make music right away .. well. bad news .. it's never like that ... it never was ... probably never will be ... some have to be more patient and respectful with others that only are trying their best to help and support a product they love for free..

I don't understand why people assume that Cakewalk did put out such a defective product, and feel free to bash it...
Sonar X2 is among the most stable releases CW has ever done ...

It's still not perfect, but they put so much efforts in crafting what could be the best DAW (more than anyone else IMHO)... that we can't really blame them for trying... downside is it might come with more bugs than if they did another Sonar 8.5 ...

On my part, I must say I appreciate when someone takes time to help me out .. Alex did recently for me, as he does for lots of people it seems ... same for Bob, Bub, and so many others that seems to take a hit on the forums lately ...

While it's anyone's choice to stay, or leave this forum, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributes to this forum,
it's a nice place to find answers and in the end, make Sonar more powerful and stable for all of us... let not the bad vibe ruin this..

Cheers !

V

Alex,im another one you may or may not know listen to a lot of what you have to say.
i think your a smart guy with a lot to offer this forum.

We are so passionate as musicians that it over flows in our suggestions and in our words we have to offer others.
You,I,were are no different.

I'm in agreement with the "it's cabin fever" comment. We're all lacking in the vitamin D that the sun gives us and the freedom everyone feels when we get outdoors.

Don't leave in haste.

Something I've learned from 25 years as a software developer, and it's the same regardless of which level of seniority I've held, is that there are two critical milestones:

(1) Done
(2) Done Done

The first one, Done, is when a project is said to be complete.  The second, Done Done, is when it really is complete.

Hopefully we're just speaking about the former here.

If I may be so bold as to say what a shame it would be to lose any of the regulars on this forum.  I rarely post but visit almost daily and take in what is written here good and bad.  I have come to understand some of the personalities and really appreciate the ones that are sincerely helpful.  The forum AND the software have been a big positive for me, I wouldn't hang around if it weren't so.  Point being, I would guess there are a lot more people like me in here than you think--- and the regulars that take the time to lend advice are more appreciated than you might know.  Thanks all.
