Hi All ,

I'm playing over another Twanger Central Weekly song . This song is the week # 102 backing track .

On this song I decided to go with a very simple melodic playing style with lots of emotional drama infused through out my playing.

I'm playing a Telecaster , the same Tele I used on the tune  My Good Tele Gone Bad ....
All my Guitar parts were tracked in SONAR , also the song was mixed there ..Then I took it over to Harrison to give it a little grit.

I hope somebody enjoys the playing ,

Kenny

Sounds good, Kenny! Is that a mic'd amp or a "soft" amp?

Great playing, Kenny! You always seem to hit the sweet spot with your melodies and you know when to let the melody run and when to tear it up. I love your stuff!

I'm always impressed by your guitar playing Kenny but this one surpasses everything else I've heard from you. Great stuff!

Dug it. Reminds me of a sped up version of "Cause We Ended As Lovers." I can't give a better compliment than that.

Hi Steve ,

I'm very glad you like my guitar tone

I used "the front end "of what I use when I play my guitar out live .
Since I live in an apt complex I do not have the luxury of being able to record my rig w a mic .

My guitars signal chain including all my hardware was fed directly onto my sound card . A 2i4 .
This gave me 80% of my Raw unaltered lead guitar sound .

The extra 20 % of my guitar tone on this song came from SONAR's Pro Channel and some 3rd party effects .

The icing on the cake if you can call it that was an amp sim I used very sparingly  .
I already had the tone I wanted so I just wanted to give a hint of a guitar amps general frequency range w a speaker cab ...

To hear an example of what the 80% of my unaltered sound sounds like try giving Diving Duck Blues or The Whale That Swallowed Jonah a quick listen over on my u tube page ..
Those 2 tunes  were done long before I ever owned an amp sim..
On both of those tunes I used the same exact rig I used on this song for my lead guitar solo I'm using  just a different guitar ..

Oh WOW  , now that I think about it ... it sure took me a long time in years + trial and error to have gotten that extra 20 %

all the best,

Kenny

Love the energy. Great playing! Wonderful tones. You know what you're doing for sure. I have an old digitech 2101 signal possessor, and tried to use it as a pre-amp, but too much white noise. The only way I could get rid of the noise was to eq the top freq's, but I hate doing that for some reason. It a shame though, cause I learned some of my best licks on that box (digital/analog hybrid). Your setup sort of inspires me to pull it out of the closet and have another hair pulling go at it, and for that my gray hair hates you, but the rest of me loves your tune!

your playing is great as usual.

the thing I like most about this though is the tone you are coaxing out of that tele.

@ 2:15 you nail the changes just fine.

the drums are the backing track don't do your playing justice, kind of robotic, to bad they didn't record the backing track with a real drummer.

did you just play the lead part? or did you do any of the other guitar parts too?

you got skills boy, but I like your tunes better.  this is a good display of talent, but on the tracks you do from scratch there is more heart, more keni.

we should collaborate sometime,no?
