I heard of Craig the minute I started using Cakewalk - IIRC, he was involved in some demo/promotion of Cakewalk/Peavey's StudioMix...

I appreciated his columns because he seemed totally unbiased (on top of being one of the few non-Pro Tools guys) and offered tips on Pro Audio, Acid, Wavelab and all...

Evangelist is a great word isn't it?

I wonder why it got dropped in a quiet little tikkle chang somewhere along the line there?...

It is, and it has Vangelis right in it so you know a LOT of records will be made, however the tittle clearly says Craig will be an Evangalist (and an Exce VP one at that).

HTH.

In the rather excellent 'Priest song Judas Rising, Rob Halford just about gets away with rhyming "Judas is Rising" with "By crucified steel... Evangelising"

Which is nice.

Not trying to be a dick or anything, but honestly, I never heard of him until a month or so ago.

He's been writing about MIDI (and other music related topics) since the 80s. I used to read his articles (in magazines, yeah real magazines) faithfully.

The birth of Bapu's Gas?

Actually, yes. Back then I bought all my gear at the local music store. In 1986 and 1987 I was "customer of the month". Seriously, I was. They published a monthly rag back then. My pic was in it and everything.

In 1986 I had purchased my Porta One, Juno 2, some mics, Rockman and a Roland TR-505. All in one month.
In 1987 I had purchased my Tascam 80-8 and 80-2, M-312 mixer and an Alesis Reverb and Delay.

I for one, certainly do believe it.
