I do find it off key due to that and she's had enough on her plate with other things and being pregnant.
it just seems like the idiot author is trying to get publicity for a book , much like another few folk who make stupid remakes.. many brits can name of recent times.
she's a 60 year old woman who should be far more verbose in her words.. also the fact she has a CBE.. ya know the royals gave the author that.. and yet she's quick to slate them.
it does come across on a personal attack on her and that;s what annoyed folk.
A typical Daily Mail reader 'tutt-tutt' point of view.
That is the papers type of readership and the type of reaction it goes for, the Yahoo article you linked to there MM hints at a better perspective of the whole thing, these comments were part of a historical discussion on the topic of the Royals and the public over centuries.
I think what the author said here, many have quietly thought.

It doesn't reflect badly on Kate's character anymore than McCartney's 'Her Majesty' did the Queen, it's more of a comment on the tailored and presented image.
