That would explain my wife's ability to hear so well. Perhaps there is something in beer that causes hearing loss... that would explain a man's inability to hear the drone wife.

For those who don't or can't drink wine, the compound comes not from the wine but from the skin of the grapes used to make the wine. You can also derive the benefits of resveratrol from eating grapes (including the white ones). The stuff is also in peanuts, which I can eat a whole lot more of than grapes.

I gather from the article that the hearing-related benefit is preventative, not restorative. So we old farts might as well not waste our time, as the damage has already been done. This information will only benefit young people who don't read science news and wouldn't care anyway.

You can get resveratrol in capsule form as well. The stuff I take is apparantly like drinking 50 glasses of wine in one dose. Without the projectile vomiting and liver failure.

Damitol is a good stress reliever. I have a bottle somewhere... go it at Stuckey's I think.
