Cheating normally has deceit as it's trade-mark.
 
So if you are happy to state you did the arp manually I can't see a problem with it.  I think you'd get a more precise, deliberate result with a 'real' arpeggiator though.
 
Here's a tip try running a 'home-made' arpeggio alongside a proper one an ocatave apart, you'll get the best of both worlds.
