Well... interesting thread.

You read it?

Kudos to you Shad. I lost interest at about post #9. But I have the attention span of an Irish Setter.

The Maillard Reaction

I ordered a transformer last night from a small company in California.

It's not the fanciest transformer I can select, but it is 1/3 the cost of the fanciest I know of and there's nothing to choose in between.

The sales rep said they keep a few in stock and if they run out when my order get's picked they'll just wind one up for me.

:-)

Good times.

best regards,
mike

Hey Mike I found some alternatives to that body.

I think these are more rugged and if you empty out the contents you'll get pretty close to that vaunted shape.

You guys all get time outs. You trashed his thread and left it for dead. Shame.

John, this is the Coffee House where Mike likes to post to draw attention to himself and educate us lesser mortals about the qualities needed to be a good retailer.

I think you are missing the point.

He posts in the hardware forum when he wants to get other folks good ideas on mic building.  If he didn't want the leg-pulling and it was a serious hardware project he'd have posted there.

Waiting over a year for some over-priced seconded stock doesn't really add up given the topic title as far as I was concerned.

Fair game I think given the circumstances, shame on you for your 'tut tut' style finger pointing I reckon.  It also diminishes Mike who is certainly big and ugly enough to defend his own corner if need be, even I credit him with that much.

If I hold that up to the light just so, I can almost see a blemish. It's no big deal though as this will be installed "inside" my project.
