On the other hand... Roland published it's latest news dated Feb 8th 2013 just today: Instead of 100 layoffs they now plan on 350... in the music division.  Computer music sales division was down 13% compared to the previous bad year. Yuck.

Roland should hurry up and make something that people want to buy and stop blaming this on Lehman brothers.
Things ain't so good for anyone in the world right now.

It doesn't surprise me at all that Roland is doing this. And they do make lots of products that people 'want', but they don't 'need' them, and therein lies the problem right now. People just aren't buying things they 'want' like they used to.

Why do you think I went on a spending spree when we moved? ... Think about it before you scroll down ...Answer below ...

Sales and service people are desperate right now and I took advantage of all of them and got about $60K worth of goods and services for around $35k.

I haven't talked to a single person in the last 4 years (in real life) that isn't scared to death about their financial future.

I believe it could be continueing in that direction for the next 4 years. Maybe they'll survive.
And they may be trying without me.

I personally don't give a sh*t if he's a nice guy. I wasn't looking for a friend or to call and talk.
I wanted to know what he has to offer and noticed X2 wasn't on the list and wondered why.
So the answer is he's not a web designer. Ok...thanks.
Spacey, you rule! LOL!

I was wondering that myself, it has been out for quite a while now.

I  think that spacey is going to the the right place. If it is the computer and isn't the software. I don't think we can blame it all on X2.

Hang in there Spacey help is on the way.

I wonder if Jim will fix the bugs that I have that migrated from 7 thru 8 to 8.5 and were certainly still there at the end of X1's technology preview for X2 period all those software revisions and two well-found systems later.

My machine works fine with everything, there's evidence of it up in this forum just now.  There is no other content creation tool I know that recommends a bunch of $ consultation fee on top to get it running well enough so you can use it.

It would help to spread your wings a little and notice this Jim'll fix it culture only happens here.

I have a huge admiration for Jim but he doesn't write the code for Cakewalks products which generally run fine but are littered with booby traps.

Don't forget having to watch 9 hours of video to find out which screen set button to push to find out where the stereo interleave button is.

I forget who brought up Jim's name up in this context... I have primarily been speaking of his character, ethics, and expertise rather than any actual need to use his services. I consider Jim a friend... and I hope none of you hold that against him. :-)

I have no idea what he'll tell spacey... but I do know it will be personalized and ultimately helpful in a big picture way.

That's why I have been advising a free and casual chat rather than a full blown shopping spree.

Anyways... I'm sensing frustration... might be a good time for me to go hit some strings. :-)

all the best,
mike

I was freaking out there for a while ... they changed the icon for it in the X2 - A patch.

I don't know why they piddle around with freaking icons while the bloody take lanes aren't working!

Crazy.

IOW ... "Spacey, man, X2 will work great, but you need to upgrade your DAW, and get rid of that old sound card you are using. We're only talking about 4 or 5 grand man."

Jim and I have a plan to build me the very best Win 7 64 system I can get the moment I ask him to go for it.

The last time he built me a DAW, Vista 64 was king of the hill but he built me a XP 32 bit system that still rocks steady today. I'm sticking with the kind of solution that makes me happy.

Every solution is personalized... I don't know what he'd recommend to you and you can't either until you spend a few minutes and have a chat.

He may tell Spacey what he already knows and there may be no need to spend another dime.

He may introduce Spacey to full function touch and change his experience for the better.

Who knows?

It's way past none of my business and now I regret having said anything on anyone's behalf. :-)

best,
mike

Jim is 100% on the level a top bloke.

It's not his fault that everyone exclaims you need to go and see Jim everytime someone declares they have an issue with the software.

I'd wager if Jim made the software nobody would have to go see Jim...
