spacey
I'm not surprised.

He said he was "cleaning up".

I read somebody suggesting the forum should have a log-in for registered users.
It was a way to filter out those that may be just inquiring about the software and trolls.

I liked it. I also thought segregation would be good for the registered users too.
A forum for "engineers" and one for those that post results from using the software.

I was enjoying my morning coffee and reading upstairs and not unlike so many posts the OP
was telling all about how and what it takes to make X2 run.
He was followed by more that had/has all the answers. The problem I have with them is they are
all talk.
No links to anything they have recorded or links to others music that they had recorded.

I sure don't mind shooting the bull with those that are here to enjoy conversation but when it
comes time to talk about recording and issues about it...just words from people I don't know that
have nothing but words....well it's just not the type I put much value in. Sorry if you are one and
that offends you.
If it helps I'm like that with many things in life. I know people that just talk a good game and have
fun with them but things change when it's gets down to being serious.

Well if Cakewalk and Andrew are serious....nows a good time to get that way. Clean it up right if you're going to clean it up.
IMO opinion there have been a lot of things for a very long time done half-assed. Of course that's
a problem I see here that really has little effect in or on my life. I can say X2 has been the biggest
problem I've personally had and I believe that will be resolved in time- by them or me.

Well one more cup and start the day. Hope it's a great one for us all.

It's funny isn't it? Those that give good advice and obviously 'walk the walk' are generally the most polite and matter-of-fact. It's invariably those with the invisible track record (pun intended) that shout the loudest and most often.

So true...then you got guys like pistolpete bothering guys like me. The dude can't carry anyone's jock as a musician, an engineer or a man. He's all talk and needs to drink an ocean of stfu.

He's been buzzing around this place like a housefly for 6 years Danny. Best bet is to not even respond.

I know, you're so right....you always are. I really have been trying. It's just so hard for me not to challenge the dude or at least offer him something that may shut him up. It just gets old bro. Unlike some of the people here, what can I say...I really take the place serious and try to make a difference for the better. When you get a guy like that who just feels the need to push buttons...one day he gets me on a bad day, and well, you know what happens. It really can easily turn a person away from here. And what really sucks is...you can get 50 people backing you telling you how cool you are, yet the 2-3 people that just have to try and ruffle your feathers make you forget about the 50 cool ones. I just think the mods should step in for stuff like that so we that do take this place a little more serious don't have to see that crap.

The sad fact is that forums always attract a handful of people who obviously have 'issues' for want of a better word, and the way they choose to exorcise their demons is to project their own misery onto others.

I walked away from this place for almost a year due to a weird incident with a forum member who was sending me really bizarre and unsettling PM's and emails. He doesn't post here now, in case anyone was wondering.

Man I couldnt agree with ya more Spacey!!!

Ive not been much of a Forum goer but since joining the Cake Forums and getting back into the music world, it would be nice to see some sort of REAL Identification as to whos who.  Not to the point of it being advertised for the sake of protecting the company one might actually have or work for at a Professional Level but Cake could do it privately and indicate What level we all are as a "Registered User".
For me it helps when Im trying to fix something of mine or even if Im going to try and help someone out,  Most of the time, you dont know what level of equipment your trying to help with and I couldnt imagine trying to give advise on a professional level system/setup, but Im sure knowing Im getting advise from someone at that level would really make me listen more, not that I dont listen to everything that Ive received as far as help goes-cause I do.  To me experience is priceless when getting advice from someone.

Regardless of that, I respect all equally and am learning the ART of avoiding and or ignoring the TROLLS

Just my 2 cents

As for the coffee and starting the weekend?  LET IT BEGIN  WOOT WOOT!!!
Planning on setting up at a new place for practice, gonna try and do some recording, and then our annual Winter Wonderland Party tonight for the grownups.  BonFire, Sledding, Cards, and just a big fun get together at the Lake.

...nothing but words

Hold on there. I like words. I've been known to use dozens of them, sometimes hundreds throughout the course of a day.

"Pernicious" is a current favorite.
