Professional Sonar Users:

Undertow- gone
JoseC-gone
CJ- still going strong

Apart from Danny who else is there?
Anderson?

(did I get his name right?)
Bapu?

He does a lot of stuff.

He sat next to Mr. RAM at NAMM and Mr. RAM was his sound man.
They had fun, Mr. RAM and and Mr. Anderton
(see what I done there?)

yeah, I should have asked the hoity toity right ?

Undertow or JoseC never spent much time down here did they?
Nope.

Jose has been gone since the X series began, they'd compiled a big list of stuff needing fixing boiled down from user input to present to the devs and the launch of the X series didn't seem take enough of the research they'd put the effort into, into account and a few of them including Jose that were involved with that effort took it as the time to look elsewhere IIRC.

Undertow still clocked in from time to time for a while after that though.

There were lots of knowledgeable folks around at that time that aren't here now, no disrespect to CJ that you included on your short list there but there were many that would have been mentioned before he would have cropped up on your list back then.

Back in the 8.x days Jose was going to help me with a Tascam FW-1884 problem I was having (his friend had one).

I'm still waiting of his professional opinion/help.

True story.

I read Gearslutz sometimes and Undertow is very active there. Like you Bapu he never uses console view

It would be nice to have some guys actually at the coalface who use Sonar and had some gravitas when putting suggestions toward Cakewalk. But like you say JonBouy- would they listen, look what happened to UT and JC

Still plenty of hugely talented producers and players around though.

Olpal, Frank, Timidi, spring to mind straight away, I could probably make a pretty long list if I sat and gave it some thought.

I see Jose and undertow around in the gearslutz forum. They don't know what they are doing there either .....plus undertow pissed off Bob Katz and Bob Katz got so mad at him he stopped going into gearslutz forum.

You kmow bob Katz ... Grammy award winner ... Mix master ... Wrote the book ... Literally

Yeah ... Those two guys Jose and undertow know more than Bob Katz ... So they claim

Yet don't see Grammys by undertow or Jose do you ?

True story ... I am sure you can still find Undertow threads on gearslutz some arguing with Bon Katz

Much of my confidence went when HCMG aka Marah Magg aka Marah went.

She really had her finger on the pulse, her predictions about what was to follow pretty much happened right on the money, she could formulate compelling points and was able to describe the workflow issues and bugs as she run into them clearly in words and pictures to the point her observations were impossible for anyone to refute.

How Cakewalk didn't offer her a job in QA and just let her walk away to another DAW I will never understand.  A very switched on individual.

Yeah, she was super articulate! Not that I would know anything about that
