Where's Danny and his frequent flier miles when you need him?!

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just spit water all over the place. Priceless Bub...I owe ya for that one. ;)

Like I said before, it's been a really strange week.

Since the other thread got buried, and hopefully you'll be back to check this one, I got the OK from the boss to get those AKG headphones.

I'm going with the MKII's. I can get them on Amazon for $105, that's almost $75 bucks less than Sweetwater. Plus I get free 2 Day shipping being signed up with a Prime account. I tell you, that $80 dollar a year fee has more than paid for itself in entertainment and shipping costs. I love Amazon.

Oh great! Make sure you let me know how they work out. If you like them and think they're worth it, I may try a pair myself. I've been meaning to check them out for a long time now....I just keep on forgetting. Wow, $105 is awesome! Looks like I may check out that Amazon too...quite a deal there. I usually get super discounts from my guy Andrew at Sweetwater because I buy so much stuff there...but I don't know if he'd top $105. That's a steal there. I sure hope they work for you Bub and they don't suck. I wish I knew for sure. But honest when I tell ya, if I were in the market for cans right now, those are the ones I'd try.

I assume Amazon has a return policy, right? If so, and those aren't good, the Studio version ($99) sound nearly the same as the DF's I have. Now THOSE I have...but like I say, mine are old so I'm not sure if the newer ones are the same any more. For example, me and bitflipper both have the Sennheiser HD 280 pro's. He claims his lack bass...which are older, mine are about 3 years old...and have a bit too much bass for me. So they do change these things from time to time. I just hope the ones you're getting sound cool. I'd feel horrible for recommending them and then have you disappointed. Like I say though, the ad's claim they are the improved version of the DF....I just hope THEIR idea of "improved" is a good one.

Tickle me funny bone. Another hilarious thread. Hmm, well... the coffee house is not the only place where friendships are made. The coffee house is not the only place where humour resides. I quite agree with Dave. And I am certainly not going to apologize for it. Dave did not point any fingers directly, so... if any of you took offence... then good. Be offended. You probably deserved to be.

Amazon let me return my $20k rack of junk with no questions asked. I saw that Guitar Center was selling the same thing for $18k but the drawback was that it's been kicked around the store for a few years.

What's weird is, there's no info on AKG's web site at all, even in their archives.

There was some people complaining on line because they say made in Austria in big bold letters on the sides of the cans, but on the box in fine print it says they are made in china. I guess there's no getting away from it.

I see the price went up $2 bucks. Grr. $107 now.

I'm actually getting them for free. I have 45,000 points on my credit card that I can cash in for Amazon gift cards. Those points don't transfer point for dollar btw. I accumulated those when I was traveling for work and filling up my gas tank 3 times a day. And those Holiday pies at McDonald's. Damn you Holiday Pie!

I'm torn. Those Studio ones and the MKII version both have excellent reviews, and I know you really like the Studio ones. I haven't made up my mind yet. That and my ears are really ringing bad from wearing these crappy ones all day. I'm wondering if this is a good idea. Heh.

Are you doing the Amazon Streaming content on Roku also? Its got some gems , but most of the movies are dated
I don't have a Roku, but I'm thinking of getting one. I like a lot of the free Prime stuff. We've been watching a lot of older TV series.

We bought a cheap little Sony Blu-Ray player and it has the streaming capability on it. It's a nightmare to set up because you have to register each service, Amazon Prime, Netflix, etc etc, and link it to an account you create on Sony's web site. I guess it's so you can just log on from any Sony device and be up and running. It works flawlessly once you get it set up, but you have to have access to a computer, there's no cell phone app, so you gotta fire up your laptop or desktop, create an account, log in, go get the custom code off the blue ray player, enter it online. It's a pain in the ass.

I also use my PS3. It was the same deal, because it's a Sony product.

Someone was telling me about a USB to HDMI cable you can get for cell phones that will connect them to a TV for streaming also.

Hi Bub,

I was streaming thru Blue Ray, but was never happy with the performance.

I picked up the lower end Roku for $49.00...........................after a week I gave the blue ray players to my kids......The Roku works excellent.
Hi Zungle,

I noticed there was a difference just between my PS3 and that little cheap Sony Blu-Ra I have. The Blu-Ray streamed 10 times clearer, which surprised me since the PS3's big deal is being Hi-Def and all that.

I was looking at one of those Roku's that allows you to stream your own video's. I have a large collection of DVD's I'm ripping so I can put the actual DVD's in storage.

Thanks for the info.

Bub.

Hmm, well... the coffee house is not the only place where friendships are made.

True. There's also the Songs forum. Several friendships were also formed in the Guitar Tracks forum a few years ago.

Not sure what your point is Shad.

'Offended' is not something that generally happens to me. 'Mildly bemused'..every day.

And now you see why I have him blocked.
