Thanks Craig for the reminder of how cool you really are but honestly you ARE preaching to the converted here.  I certainly always enjoy your input and have learned much from your presence in the industry over many years.  And I really don't give a f**k what they think.

Actually the point was that I'm not cool, but as someone pointed out, not caring about being cool can make one cool. I guess the self-deprecation may have been a little too nuanced. Not only am I not cool, but for the record, I am not hip. Therefore, recognizing my lack of coolness makes me cool. However, it's uncool to say I'm cool because I don't care about being cool, but then, because I don't care that people think I'm uncool because I point out that people say I'm cool because I don't care if people think I'm cool returns me to coolness. Get the absurdity of those kind of judgements?

Just spell my name right  I think most people understand by now that when they read my stuff, they should picture someone who's not exactly Mr. Serious. Unless I'm offering tech tips.

BTW I read the link, which I would file under "magnificent grasp of the obvious." A forum is a mirror held up to society. Look at society. The people in Washington who supposedly guide the future of this country wisely are a bunch of immature, corrupt, spoiled brats. I think the quality of discourse in this forum far exceeds that of the discourse in Congress, but admittedly, Congress has set a very low bar.


I've been doing the forum thing for 18 years, since SSS first appeared as a microsite on AOL. I'm working on a model that will replace the traditional forum with what I think is a better alternative, but we'll leave it at that. It won't happen until six months at the very least, more likely a year.

It's cool that your cool about being uncool Craig.
