hello all,
I'm using the cakewalk version provided by bandlab. when i was using sonar x3 and now with this version i'm getting a delay when using a stereo bus. I've tried different fx on the bus, and they all add a delayed signal to the mix.
 
any help would be appreciated.

Some system specs might help, CPU, OS, Driver Model, the FX being used, Buffer sizes, total round trip time?  from your other post is this for the Pro 40?

Are you using a mono only effect? Check the interleave button too and make sure its stereo and not accidently set to mono

@wookiee, Sorry about the lack of info. I'm using Windows 10, Intel processor, 16GB RAM. I'm assuming the issue is with any fx being used. Of course, it's more pronounced with percussive tracks like using a compressor plugin on drums. 
@stxx, by default the interleave button is set to mono, i havent tried setting it to stereo.  I'll try that. the fx i'm using are mono (compressors etc.)

Happened to me when using oversampling.

Toggle the PDC button on/off

I second Bristol Jonesey suggestion, I am using a Pro 40 and do not experience any noticeable delay even when using a number of busses.  What are your Pro 40 settings?

ASIO Buffer size = nnnnnn

Firewire Driver Latency = ??????

To get the last one you may have tell Windows not to use this device as it is disabled when in use.

Plugins which use "look ahead" to work out what to do with the audio tend to add latency at least equal to how far ahead they are reading the data. Compressors that use look-ahead and convolution reverbs are usually the worst offenders. Plugins using look-ahead are often best added after tracking has been done, because some can add a huge amount of latency.
 
If the problem goes away when no effects are being used on anything, then it's a matter of trial and error to find which is the offending plugin(s). Then if you need to hear what they are doing while recording tracks substitute a different plugin that doesn't cause latency issues then switch back to the "right" one for mixing.

I've played with all your suggestions and it turns-out, that maybe, the problem intermittent. I applied the same plugin (Thrillseeker VBL Compressor) to a bus and there was NO latency/delay.  I don't know what to say.
